AMD Always stop by to check out your thread just not alot of time to post... Love the picks, keep doing what you do. You looking at anything for the late games??
Thanks for the post, BigD
I'm not going to force anything but if I did play something it would probably be the Dallas tt under or Vancouver ml or Vancouver in regulation. As for the late game....probably the ugliest game we'll see on paper.....absolutely no interest but I don't think the Kings are an automatic play in regulation

amd...my fellow SJ Sharks friend, great write up on both the games.
Your cap on the Blues is spot on...After the first period I went back and matched what you said and, yes, bow it makes sense. So far so good. Anyway, thank you for the tips and keep up the good work.

Thanks buddy...Unplug also made a good point about St Louis being physical and creating turnovers and that point proved to be true on the 2nd goal. Calgary doesn't belong in the NHL this season. Good luck

Nice call with the ducks amd. What a loaded team they got. Could be cup bound if they stay healthy.
Agreed. I really like this team and since Fasth has taken over, I think they'll make a nice run in the playoffs. I'm watching the Chicago game and the Hawks are making San Jose look like Calgary. I have no idea why Emery doesnt get more playing time...he's fukking good. Looks like Anaheim and Chicago are the two teams to beat at this point in the season. Vancouver will be there, too.

Regarding my analysis of the teams and, overall, the sport of hockey, there's nothing more valuable than having a "sixth sense" regarding the sport that is being wagered. It's one thing for an avid fan to gamble on games they watch along with being provided the wealth of statistical information but when you've actually played the game, it's easier to make wagers from a players perspective than by actually playing with just numbers. I was fortunate to be able to play a couple of years in the Blackhawks organization on a team equivelant to AA baseball....I played in the ECHL and the Fort Wayne Comets were our top tier minor league team back when Dominik Hasek, Ray LeBlanc and Jimmy Waite were our goaltenders and Eddie Belfour was in Chicago. I played a short time in the ECHL and was invited to Fort Wayne for a brief stint only to be completely undersized and outclassed. At 5'10, 185, my wheels werent good enough. Great experience, however, but I knew I was playing on borrowed time....this was 20 years ago. I never lost my passion for the game which is why I love the brudders in the Covers NHL forum because everyone has passion and a love for the NHL and most of everyone is very intelligent regarding the game. Hockey is a complex game and you have to understand the game to make money at it. Football, for example, is America's pasttime and even if you dont know anything about the X's and O's, the sport is marketed to the point where everyone who talks football may sound like a genious. With hockey, I know in the first 60 seconds whether someone knows the game or whether they're full of shitt.
So, while looking at boxscores or following stats or statistical trends, I try and cap the game on just as much intuition than the time I put in studying a teams recent success/trends in a variety of categories. Hope I've answered your questions...Good luck
Great post. Worth reading twice. I love what you said about sports chatter, and picking out those who don't know hockey so easily.
A side note about the stat I posted, it was just really shocking. I was still in total agreement about amd's pick. I did play ANA o2.5, but do wish I played them to win. But with my bad few nights, I thought I would keep it safe.
Cheers, and super job, amd!

You know, that intuition thing really can't be understated. My worst day this week and biggest losses were when I was completely buried in the stats and line movements. I wasted about 4-5 hours that day thinking I would benefit greatly and beat the books at their own game, and it went almost 100% the other way. I made a few plays that went completely against the gut and feels, and the most TYPICAL common sense, and I paid for it.
Just really great advice from amd, and wish we could all have the experience he had as a player. It's got to offer you so much on top of being a life long fan.
Congrats on being as good a player and going places we could only dream of, amd. You're downplaying it a bit. There's not 0.3% of people on this board who did what you did.

Wanted to revisit this thread and say congrats on the hit for the Ducks, amd!
Thought for sure the Red Wings would have been able to smother the Ducks and play more disciplined, but that forecheck was way too much in the neutral zone for that bad Red Wing blue line. 2 Defensive end turnovers and 2 neutral zone turnovers for quick odd man rushes. Ducks are looking for real.
