What the hell is going on in the NHL?

9-2 Nashville?
2-0 Dallas, than implode and are down 4-2...
Barfalo dusts the Sharks again...

2-3 so far, with a Anaheim win (up 1-0 so far) will break even on singles but this season is wacky.

Guys. I am going to take a vacation. I have seen these weeks before where nothing goes right. I am going to take a week off and relax. Sometimes you just need to unplug. Maybe take the wife to Montreal for a few days before the kids get home for the holidays.

Sorry for the disappointment. It's been a rough season thus far. I will be back eventually. Wish you guys all the best.

First post here, did not see the need of posting before untill today.

Gen, you have said how you did not have a losing season in NHL in 20 years. You have also said not to blindy tail your picks, but to give you some time first. Which i did. You were 14.70 units in profit after 2 weeks or so when i decided to tail your singles since you proved to be great. 

So, what happened next is you lost almost all units you have won till then, leaving me (and probably many others) with -12 units. As you can see, i have never posted anything cause i believed you would grind your way back. This way i would like to ask you, please come back after a week of that vacation. I would like to get those units back if possible.

If not, thank you on -12 units lol.

I see a lot of threads where posters say they are up $22,000+ etc.., but they say their unit size is $5000. Come on. Lets be real here. No need to BS. Lets just help each other. This isn't a pissing contest. We all want to make money from the books.

The NHL has been brutal for a lot of us. Have a good vacation and we"ll grind it out when you get back.

Take some responsiblity for yourself punk--exactly how much did you pay the Gen for his picks?  And wtf does he owe you?

What does he owe me? Nothing. Maybe his own words. He said it by himself how he never had a losing season in NHL. How we should not blindly tail his picks, but wait some time to evaluate him.

I am pretty much sure there was almost no one that tailed his picks from the beginning. We all wanted to make sure he is what he represented him as, a guy that did not have a losing NHL season. So after 2 weeks and almost 15 units profit, i decided to tail his picks. Unfortunately, everything went wrong from that point. He is down to not even 2 units, which makes me 12 units down. And i am confident enough to say that i am not the only one that did not tail his picks from the beginning. Meaning everyone who joined later are pretty much down in units.

That's why i kindly asked to return after a vacation, to finish his job and to prove his words. Nothing more, nothing less. When things go wrong, it's not unusual to take a break. I understand it. I just hope he's gonna return stronger and prove me i was not a dumb, naive guy when i decided to tail his picks and put my money on it. Cheers

Preds one of most stable teams In the league. 12 new faces on Stars club. Sharks historically @ Sabers god awful which I see you failed to figure out. Biggest layoff game of the card last night unless a sprinkle on Sabers ML +200.
Flames are surging now better than at any point in the last 5 years and you want to fade them... Sounds like +EV to me.

I hope General wont mind me posting something. It's a copy-paste take from some Canadian guys that really knows their job when it comes to NHL betting.

"Holy crap is November ever a bizarro month when it comes to hockey.

Were talking on the weekend about the last week of results. Just how crazy some of them were etc – not just who wins, but game totals as well. Seeing a hot offense completely disappear overnight – or a goalie go from looking like he’s never played before in his life, to playing like Patrick Roy.

Last week was a massive week for the underdogs – but it looks like it’s not just last week, as it’s continuing this week. The Flames beat the Ducks, and are 1 point off them to lead the Pacific. The FLAMES. Habs go from thrashing the Bruins to getting absolutely deciminated by the Penguins. Buffalo hammer the Sharks 4-1 in a game where they had just 14 shots on goal. That makes it – wait for it – EIGHT GAMES IN A ROW that Buffalo have beat the Sharks. 8.

And then we have Toronto. The Maple Leafs lost to Nashville 9-2 at home in what is one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen. Following up from that Buffalo result. Ouch. Usually I text my friends who are Leafs fans “Classic Leafs” after any defeat. Couldn’t even bring myself to do that last night.

Amazing stuff.

Makes you scared to bet, that’s for sure."


There you go flamers. As General said, it's been a tough season for everyone and yet he managed to stay in +.

It's good to take a pause when things are not going as they should. Take some time, do whatever makes you happy and when you come back, we grind our way back.

Stop making excuses. Just because the general didn't pick the winner, doesn't mean its a bizarre month - it's just sport, there's plenty of cappers making good money at the moment because they are the ones Finding the +ev opportunities.
If ypu wanted to make money without thinking ypu could have played jeff the hats system and quit once 15 units ahead like I did.
If you lost 12 units tailing some random bloke on the Internet, it's your fault.
Enjoy your holiday general and I hope it refreshes the mind to get back into some good hockey bets again.

Why can't a guy just do his thing and let the work speak for its self? Or back it up. Claims to be a winner for 20 years followed by results and common sense imo that don't seem to support that claim I'd want to take a "take a break" too 40 days into the season. Criticism and questioning brought on himself imo.

lol I had every game right except the St Louis Blues.  That game really screwed me from hitting a 60 unit win for 1 unit parlay. Had Pittsburg for the puck line in that parlay too. Of course I dont really know what I am doing when playing some of these parlays.

Exactly. If you bet nearly 100% favorites, you are participating in the time honored sports tradition of picking up nickels in front of a steamroller. Low risk, low reward. What made it worse for the general is that he doubled down on his losses by selecting more puck lines hoping that prosperity was just around the corner. 

I agree that a capper who has not had a losing season in 20 years shouldn't be fazed by a bad week. Isn't it just a drop in the bucket? Or was the General just riding the hubris of a relatively successful month of baseball capping on covers and fudged the numbers a bit? Hmmmmmm.....

Anyway, this "strange month" has been going swimmingly for my system, so if you are in desperate need of someone to tail, feel free. Since my system uses the last two seasons as its learning set, this one can't be all that weird, can it? 

I have not last in the last 20 seasons either because this is my first season betting! I am not Canadian, not old, and I have no connection to hockey except that it is a sport that I bet on. I can't guarantee you anything about my picks except that my computer spits them out, and I have no clear idea why, but I know that its picks are better than mine would be.

Who the hell cares if he really did find success for 20 years, trends change and so do humans. Maybe his head isn't in it anymore like it used to be. But all the dumb idiots coming in here complaining about this that or the other thing - man, I just don't know about humanity anymore. Get a freaking grip people.

seems like general left forever. he doesnt care about us and he just proved it. you cant come here with story : hey i never had a losing season in last 20 years of betting. then just disappear after a losing week and going down to 2 units.

I really don't think he cares about the size of the thread, its about keeping all your picks in one place to ensure honesty. There's nothing wrong with keeping all picks in one thread, I actually wish more people would to be honest.
