After a terrible 1-7 night we bounce back with a 5-1 night
And hitting that nice little parlay wasn't so bad either
Hawks +107 2U
Some will say this is a homer play and they are probably right but hear me out for a second. Raanta has played very well, the only person who has figured him out was James Neal and that's it. Luckily for the Hawks he doesn't play for St Louis. Stasny just got sent to the IR and there is some type of sickness going around the Blues. Look for the Hawks to bounce back tomorrow in STL. I also might take the reverse puck line on this saw it at some places for +300
Sharks -1/2 1P -102 2U
Sharks score the 2nd most 1P goals in the league and the Sabres have scored the least amount of first period goals all season at 2. After that big let down game the other night against Columbus I look for the Sharks to come out flying and dominate the 1st period. I don't care what they do after that as long as it's at least 1-0 Sharks after 20 minutes
Wings +100 2U
Ewww a Hawks fan betting the Wings. Yes it's a struggle but Flyers first game back after a road trip and the Wings are actually playing good hockey. Philly to me just looks soft. This team has no grit and they aren't the same as years past. Mason is average at best and I think this is a bad spot for the Flyers
Bolts +147 1U
Really like how Tampa is playing lately. I also like how Minnesota is playing but if this gets to be a high scoring game I don't see how Minnesota can hang with Tampa. Tampa is just clicking and they have a very young, quick talented team that might make a good push through the playoffs this year with Ben Bishop in net. I would like this play even more if Bishop was in but I'm hearing we might get Nabakov but either way I'm sticking with my first thoughts plus I see good value at +147
Pens -1/2 1P +188
I'm playing these bums 1P because they SHOULD win this game but they can't seem to keep a damnn lead to save their lives. So frustrating when you have a team with that much skill and talent and they are just lazy as fuckk. There is no other way to put it. They always come out fast in the 1st period with a league high 12 goals in the 1st (one more than SJ if you're paying attention to above) so I'm just gonna roll with them. Hopefully they come out with their normal 2-0 or 3-0 1P lead then shit themselves like they always do
OTHER LEANS: Bruins, Montreal and Dallas (No line yet?)

not really nuts about anything tomorrow HookEm AND I usually STINK on Saturdays anyway. thinking maybe "James Neal's Revenge" in Nashville and "Der Pecker" steals one. DO like your Bhawks with Raanta
like tonydan I'm waiting for the @ Islanders total. THAT could be "NBA on Ice" @ Nassau

Good write ups hook - Hawks are an automatic play IMO .....they are coming off a loss and they ALWAYS make a point of beating the top teams in the west . It's what they do . Flashing back to earlier in the season when you said you like the pens coming out of the east and I agreed , eh maybe ,maybe not now . I posted a pic of Sean couturier scoring the empty netter against Pittsburgh . I captioned it couturier seals the deal #thepensarenotthehawks I'm glad I put in futures on your Hawks and kings to take the cup .....those codes are strong and IMO nobody is close and more importantly consistent .

Like your 1P bets That might be the only sane way to back the pens. Their structure unravels like a pair of cheap russian pantyhose. Game after game. Season after season.

Don't know if any of you guys actually watch the Flyers games but I do, every one of them and whoever is in net is all on his own. Goaltending is NOT the issue there, not even close. The defence was already their achilles heel and now no timmonen, no coburn and now you can include no andrew macdonald. The netminders are playing behind a semi ahl defensive unit so to toss the blame on them is just plain silly.
Crawfords save % the last two seasons playing for Chicago were .926 and .917 respectively.
Masons save % the last two seasons playing for Philadelphia were .944 and .917 respectively.
I think se will agree that Crawford got his numbers playing behind a much better and much more highly skilled hockey team and behind a partial all world defence. Mason on the other hand got those same numbers playing behind a weaker team who's biggest weakness has been their porous defence.
So far this season playing behind a (to be kind) sub par defence the Flyers goaltending in 310 minutes of hockey against Boston, Montreal, Anaheim, Chicago and Pittsburgh, 3 of those games on the road, the goaltending allowed 15 goals, better than a 3 goals against average against very strong opposition playing behind a brutal defence. The goalies are giving them every chance in the world to be successful. Detroit should get to whoever is in net tonight and put pucks into the net but the weak unskilled Flyers defence will be the reason why.
The whole goalie thing has been a media free for all for years now and gets blown out of proportion every single season, and people just throw all the blame on them without even looking at the actual stats or facts. Don't get me wrong their has not been a main consistent guy now for years but thing has just taken on a life of it's own. The blame if it must be handed out right now lies all on the awful, undermanned inexperience defence they are running out there on a nightly basis.

good goalies can win games on there own, look at the leafs when we had cujo and eddie, those leaf teams were garbage but our goalies made us into a playoff team and they always got us into the second round atleast, now phily has always had a better team then the leafs and if they had either cjo or eddie they probably would have won a cup, so i will agree with the media and say they havent had a real goalie since the hextall days. and phily has had some power house teams over the last 20 years.

leafs1789 I will assume you are commenting on that I posted, but I am confused. Who are you disagreeing with? I clearly stated there has not been a main, consistent guy there for years now, which is essentially what you just repeated. However it has become just a knee jerk reaction now to just blame goaltending whenever Philly loses which people do without even having the proper stats, facts or without actually watching their games. The Flyers defence has been nothing short of atrocious the last few seasons and last year Steve Mason was THE REASON the Flyers made the playoffs. Now the already bad defence has lost 3 of it's top four defencemen so to just automatically blame the goaltending for any pucks going in the net is 100% wrong. I have watched every game so far and the goalies are the reason they 6 points they have, along with some good offensive play. Luke Schenn is worth at least one goal against every game all on his own. I wish we had of had Belfour I was a big fan of Eddie, especially during his Hawk days. As for Cujo great show goalie but the big games were in his career the worse his play was so there is zero evidence he could have won any team a Cup. Anytime a team he was on made it past a round or two in the playoffs os when he fell apart and played his worst hockey. He was also pre garbage when he got the chance to represent Canada and single handedly lost us the World Cup when Mike Richter badly outplayed him at the other end, with Cujo routinely letting pucks in from 50 feet away. He was amazing for the most part for sure but I never saw him play amazing in the bigger more important games.
