r u kidding me? there are more ppl from van on this site that prefer other teams than van! van was so bad in its early years ppl had to like other teams. i am hockey fan first. i like the pens. hell even though we were in the same div as the oilers- i still loved them during the gretz years cuz they were great. loved the flyers and isles during their cup runs. even the canadiens for me during the lafleur years. most of us don't like the leafs though. my reason for hating them is their affiliation with the cbc. so for me i hate the cbc more for cramming the shitty leaf games down our throat when we should have been watching a real team in the 1990's the oilers!
Just would like to point out that I love the Oilers and seeing them mentioned makes me smile Goooo Oilers with all our 1st round draft picks.
Regarding Van...Canadians who don't cheer for the Nucks to win it all is stupid. We haven't seen a cup in 18yrs, so go Nucks go...bring the cup home.
Give me a 7 game series please.

Nucks are the least popular probably because they have never won the cup. Aside for Ottawa, they have the least significant history of any Canadian team.
Who cheers for a team with a history of losing? Plus they have not been around as long the Leafs or Habs.
Then take into account they were the best team in the league. We love to cheer for the underdogs, Oilers got a lot of support in Canada. So many haet the Nucks right now because they are good.
Than you can get into the politics or social conditions of the city and it has been criticized as being non-canadian. I can list numerous things but most important is that there are more Starbucks stores than Tim Hortons in Vancouver!

very true actually . i like the underdog but now i have to have a diff opinion. to be tops throughout takes alot of work. from now on i'll respect the favorites more. lots of starbucks here cuz of the proximity to seattle. also share legend jimmy hendrix...his parents divorced early and he went to school in van.

"Turn over by Gilbert' To Henrik Sedin tik tak toe it's in the net oh my what a pretty passing play by the Sedins and burrows had the empty net to himself he could have done his hair with Khabibulin hung out to dry like that. and it's four nothing Vancouver"

Yeah, lots of bright spots this year other than toughness, one of the things I really like about Vancouver btw they Don't get pushed around by calgary and minny like the Oil do. I still remember some of those beauty Semenko Highlights where he absolutely murdered a guy for looking at Gretzky or Kurri funny. I imagine the 80's Oilers lit up the Canucks back then eh ? You remember any games vividly ? I was pretty young so I can only remember a few games mostly against Calgary or this one time they raped the Nordiques like 11-1 or something.
