Bergeron is Bostons best all around player. Ryan Kesler is Vancouvers. Hes like Bergeron but with 41 goals an a Selke trophy finalist, an a conn smythe possiblilty if they win. Power plays is a joke. Such a mismatch. .
Ya the Bruins don't need Bergeron to score 41 goals to have success he just has to win the draws and shadow Kesler which is something he can do

The goaltending is the only even thing. However Luongo has been consistently awsome since game 7 vs Chicago where Tim Thomas has either been great or subpar. Even if Thomas played like he did vs Philly which was spectacular it still wouldnt be enough.
WOW Luongo was pretty mediocre in Game 1 handling the puck, he played like shit in Game 3- Thomas had a couple stinkers but he usually plays great against the Canucks and has the better capability of stealing a game IMO

sorry mtbaker maybe youll be right but right now im going to disagree. Boston didn't do that great against those speed teams. Both went to games 7's, both had shoot outs in those series. An I don't think with the size an physicality of the Canucks that they will get grinded down.

Wont even waste time discussing that/ If you break down each line of each team, its a mismatch up an down. The depth of the Canucks is outstanding. The goaltending is the only even thing.
I think the Bruins forwards have way better depth than the Canucks and ya the line matchups won't be fair. Bergeron or Kelly are two of the best 2-way forwards in the game and will shade Kesler, Lucic and Co. have the physicality to compete with the Sedins, and the Bruins have great quick energy guys in Marchand, Peverly, and Seguin that are similar to Lapierre and Hansen

The rest will also benifit Vancouver at this point of the year. Erhoff an Rome will be back playing, an even Malholtra may be back. Vancouvers time is now. They dominate this Boston team in almost every area of the game. Luongo is hot, the Sedin';s are hot, the Nucks have gotten better every series. I could see a 4 game sweep. But I'll call it in 5 games for Vancouver. Im ready to lay this series price large.
How does everyone make such a big deal about rest. The Bruins have been playing a couple more games of intense hockey against TBay and came away relatively unscaved in the injury department and THEY GET UNTIL WEDNESDAY TO REST THAT'S A TON OF TIME CONSIDERING THESE GUYS PLAY ALMOST EVERY OTHER DAY DURING AN 82-GAME SCHEDULE AND EVEN B2Bs- the Canucks will have been off for way longer and I could see them being rusty and nervous in front of a pressure-packed crowd expecting so much- they may try to do too much against a Bruins team that plays simple smart hockey on the road

Luongo has been great 1.95 gaa last 11 playoff games. He stole game 5 for the Nucks. He can't handle the puck...so what. Neither can Thomas, he gave away a goal doing that to in game 6 in Tampa. Bergeron can't score 41 goals. My point is that Kesler does it all. Hes better than Bostons bet all around player. He can shut down whoever he needs to an score. Kesler single handedly took over that Nashviille series who have the best defensive combo going an one of the best goaltenders. Boston has such a lack of skilled scorers that you have seen a record bad power play.

bruins have the leading goal scorer in the playoffs, guy is a flippin magician with the puck. canuck fans will know him quite well by the time the series is over.

Haha a sweep no way and 5 games that's funny how I that number thrown around all over Covers and the city of Vancouver that I live in. It's gonna be rude awakening for the Canucks fans when they realize the Bruins can play. I'm not saying Bruins easily win the series or anything but I'm laughing at how people think this is a cake walk especially considering that the Canucks needed a 3rd-period comeback to win Game 1 against SJ, 3 5-on-3s in a row to win Game 4, and a prayer with 13 seconds left to win Game 5 after getting outshot badly by the Sharks so simply died of conditioning in OT and had a much weaker goalie than Timmy T

Injured and rusty Malholtra will be useless on the draws and in this series- Boston's time is now they are a veteran club with a ton of character that can handle adversity I mean they didn't break a sweat after losing both home games in Round 1, they didn't look lost when they were down 3-1 in Game 4 to the Habs with their season looking down in the dumps, they didn't fold after the Lightning smacked em in Game 1 in Boston, when the Lightning came back from 3-0 down in Game 4 in Tampa- YES THE CANUCKS SURVIVED THE 3-0 HAWKS SWEAT BUT THEY WERE ALWAYS UP THAT SERIES AND HAD A TOUGH TIME- THE CANUCKS ARE FRAGILE MENTALLY EVEN MORE THAN PHYSICALLY AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DOWN THIS POSTSEASON- WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY LOSE GAME 1 OH YA THAT IS POSSIBLE

you quoted everything i said an disagreed with it like Boston has the edge in everything. The lines makers must have really fucked up then. You called Chris Kelly 'one of the best 2-way fowards in the game". Your really reaching. So Bergeron is going to be on the ice 40 minutes a game shutting down Kesler an the first line. That Vancouver first line is the best in game. This is a mismatch, sweep is possible , probably 5. Boston cant play with them.

It makes me laugh how you say the Bruins have no chance and you live in Massachusetts while I've been a Bruins fan for over 7 years and have been raised in Vancouver, Canada. Maybe we should switch cities lol, naw I'm gonna be dawning my Bruins jersey in GM Place for Game 1 of the Cup finals and will want to be getting the last laugh in Van
BOL on your play but I couldn't help but back up my boyz who are getting absolutely ripped to shreds before the playoffs have even started.

^^^Dude play with your head not your heart.mtl and tampa are no where near the same team as the nucks...I picked a Nucks/Bruins final from the start of the playoffs. But this is where it ends for the big bad bruins...Nucks have size and speed and the best power play in the nhl...you guys better stay out of the sin bin or this is a short series..Don`t get all bent out of shape because your bruins are a good team but they just are out classed here...I love how all the homers come out of the woodwork when someone makes a thread.

I never play with only my heart- I like the Bruins this series and I don't post much in here but I post a ton in the NBA Forum and if you visited you would see that I am a big Memphis Grizzlies fan- but did I take them against the Thunder to win the series....NO, I also hate the Heat but I took them in Game 5 against the Celtics ATS who are one of my favourite teams- I think at around +190 Boston has great value here
and don't step on my balls for coming in here and writing reasons for why I like the Bruins. There are a lot of things in here write-up that I don't agree with and isn't that what a forum is for to argue about meaningful reasons about taking a certain side I guess I should just say "Canucks in 5 " but I'm not like that what's the point in saying Bruins win the series if I can't give some reasons tough guy?
Anyways I'm off to bed but maybe you can get your cuddly Oilers blanket and watch the Bruins give the Canucks a hell of a run for their money this series

Wow I guess Richards and Carcillo were soft Teddy Bears they don't call them the Broadstreet Bullies for nothing.
Trust me the Bruins will put that clown Torres on his ass with the amount of bruisers they got.
Honestly Lapierre is probably the only Canucks who's edge worries me cause he can get under Boston's skin.
wrong tell me one game or one bruin player that has made one thunderous hit so far in the playoffs. van ballard two - tootoo and mcginn. edler two huge to start chi series and nash series. torres- made chi fans cry.
bos is certainly capable of hitting but they have not done so yet.
bos was left in the dust in terms of skating speed with mtl hell your from van. did tambellini not hunt down one of the fastest in erat in nash? and raymond is just as fast if not more than mtl players followed closely by hansen.
we'll find out soon enough but you're arguing with a guy from mass that watches more bruins games than u - funny shit

O ya the part about Boston being a veteran club an its their time. Now these may not be the exact ages but I'll be within a year or 2 if im off, just dont feel like looking them all up.. 1st line. Krejci-24 Horton 26 Lucic 23. 2nd line Bergeron 25 Marchand 22 rookie mark recchi who looks awful 43 3rd line. Chris Kelly 31 Tyler Seguin 19 Michael Ryder 31 . Chara 33 Siedenberg 29 Boychuk 25 Mcquaid 25 Ference 32 kaberle gone Thomas 37, but Rask 24. They got a great young nucleaus of talent. look at the first line all 26 or younger. almost same for the 2nd line. All the D-men young or in early 30's. Rask is ready when needed. Looks like the Bruins could be good for a long time. They have a few vets, but overall this is a pretty young team.

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT the Habs and Lightning are both much faster skating teams than the Canucks and the Bruins did just fine- unlike the Sharks they will clog up the middle and not allow the Canucks to come ahead full steam into the attacking zone and the Bruins did just fine
that is how the lightning were able to use their speed to get their goals. long passes thru the center. so no way has boston learned how to defend the long pass or the middle

I've seen Bostons defensive game break down against Tampa several times. They aren't consistent enough. An the Bruins shot on Boucher, Roloson, now Luongo. Thats a little step up in class. Luongo will be great. Nashville played the best D you could play in the plaoyffs along with Rinne who played maybe the best round of any goalie an they still found themselves down 3-1 an lost in 6. I don't know if its offense vs defense. I think the Nucks have the better offense by a mile an can play just as good defensivley. That power has to catch up to Boston now to. You can't hit 8.6% in the playoffs an win the Cup. An it won't get better. AMD you have been almost everytime, but even you said, maybe not exactly but along these lines of "Tampa vs Vancouver would be a better series".
Thanks for the dialogue. Yes, I did mention that I thought Tampa and Vancouver would be a better series but my opinion was purely subjective. I really don't have a dog in this fight regarding the finals and I'm just trying to be objective regarding my analysis.
I like Vancouver a lot but the price is way too high to bet them for the series so I'm going to stick with betting individual games because I predict this series will go 6 or 7 games and I'm sure value will be found in some of the lines throughout the series.
As much as I've liked Vancouver throughout the season and the playoffs, they will be tested

I've been looking at this for a few days now about this match-up an where does Boston have an advantage? They are overwhelmed in every aspect of the game. Bostons D in my opinion isn't overall better. They have a better top pairing with Seidenberg an Chara but Vancouvers depth at D gives them more than the edge. An Beiska has been playing better than any D-man in the playoffs with his good D an providing alot of offense. The Canucks have just as much speed if not more than any team Boston played, along with the most size an physicality Boston has seen. Bergeron is Bostons best all around player. Ryan Kesler is Vancouvers. Hes like Bergeron but with 41 goals an a Selke trophy finalist, an a conn smythe possiblilty if they win. Power plays is a joke. Such a mismatch. Wont even waste time discussing that/ If you break down each line of each team, its a mismatch up an down. The depth of the Canucks is outstanding. The goaltending is the only even thing. However Luongo has been consistently awsome since game 7 vs Chicago where Tim Thomas has either been great or subpar. Even if Thomas played like he did vs Philly which was spectacular it still wouldnt be enough. Vancouver can play Bostons style of game too, a low scoring defensive game an win, like vs Nashville. while Tampa couldn't win that type of game. Im ready to lay this series price large.
i personally agree with every comment you make here, good luck!

I think Sedin's will dissapear once again in this series. Chara and Sedeinberg match up well against them. It might be closer then people think. But I think Van still wins in the end
