Good decision. I'm sure you noticed I like to take big dogs at times. Looking for that 10 % chance they come in. Still as long as I come out even or on top I'm happy. 3-2 yesterday. Wishing you a great New Year. Congrats on your USA pick.

Of course they should be concerned not because of the Czech but because of themselves, they should be concerned if they were playing the Swiss too, they should have been concerned against Latvia who beat them. Anyone should concern them. This is a really weak Canadian team, even weaker than last years team which was very bad. The players are decent enough but we no longer play our own brand of hockey, we have no identity anymore. Just another group of kids out there playing soft hockey, not driving to the net, not going into the dirty areas enough and trying to make the perfect play with too many pretty passes and putting themselves in bad positions, which leads to taking penalties. Hope they magically get all that changed, it’s hard to envision that happening though.

The change on style of play is everywhere. I watch my Hurricanes the other night let the other team railroad their own Goalie, and not one player even punches/cross-checks or otherwise does anything to the offending player. My own Dad would tell me when I was 7 or 8 that if anyone ever so much as touches your Goalie, I have his permission to go ahead and kick the shit out of that player, or at least try to, and he would back me up at any disciplinary hearings/happenings. that toughness ethic is gone now.
I suspect that in the next 10-20 (maybe 30) years these 2 major things will happen:
1. NFL will switch to "Two-Hand-Touch" or Flag Foosball to reduce injuries/concussions
2. NHL will ban body-checking entirely and fighting will garner multiple games suspensions, rather than a Major penalty
Hope I am completely wrong, but I don't think I am on this one...

You’re not wrong at all, you’re 100% correct. It’s a reflection of the overall pussification of western society but that’s getting into a whole other pile. These major sports are all literally completely different sports than they were a few decades ago. Some people like that, so power to them that prefer this version of things, it’s their world now. I’m not one of those people. I miss more than I can ever properly convey here, the kind of sports I watched through most of my life. Like even basketball from the 80s and 90s to whatever this garbage is now is a wild transformation into something else.
