Ok I take that back, sometimes it is a 50-50 shot. Let me rephrase that. Overtimes are not always 50-50, in fact rarely are they.

It`s first to one goal, I don`t see it being more than 60 - 40 for the Hawks but consider that they have to kill a 3:57 pp first. If for whatever reason Hawks get another penalty in these four minutes to make it a 5 on 3 ... this game is over.

I`ve got Nash in OT +140 ... too good to pass up.

Chris Mason was 2-5 in OT while Nittymaki was 5-1. Gustavsson was 3-8 while Huet was 3-0, for example.

does anyone know why Hossa didn't also receive a match penalty for the major boarding offense?  i thought it was automatic?  at least is was when Ovechkin hit Campbell...

Too bad Hossa's suspension for the dirty hit couldn't have started before the OT period.

Preds +1.5 and Over 5

That was a fun game to watch.  Hopefully the Pens game will be just as good.

I guess because Hossa didn't break Hamhuis' collarbone and a few ribs.

from the NHL rule book...rule 42 - boarding

42.3 Major Penalty – The Referee, at his discretion, may assess a major penalty, based on the degree of violence of the impact with the boards, to a player or goalkeeper guilty of boarding an opponent (see 42.5)

42.5 Game Misconduct Penalty - When a major penalty is imposed under this rule for a foul resulting in an injury to the face or head of an opponent, a game misconduct shall be imposed.

so the refs thought Hossa's hit on Hamhuis was worthy of a major, but because he didn't sustain an injury to the face or head, there's no game misconduct?  do they make that assertion only because he wasn't carried off the ice?  what if he has a concussion?  that's a head injury!  Hossa should have been tossed out and the refs blew it.

fucking double-standard bullshit.  i hate to see the best game on the planet ruined by this kind of shit.  the application of the rules by the refs and the league front office is nauseating.  what a fucking embarrassment.
