This is what I'm saying aside for top 3 people won't really agree. Anyone even mentioned Lethonen or Price? I bet many would have had Fleury before the playoffs. Nobody would have had Smith. Might as well add Holtby now!

Ya we could really go on for days with this conversation Dangerbay. All guys I mentioned play on teams with a good system. Rinne has Weber and Suter... you don't think Cam Ward, who nobody has mentioned, could benefit from 2 guys like that in front of him instead of Pitkanen and whoever else they have?

I guess this is when you just have to watch them play, look at their stats and just make a decision. It's all subjective. Smith has been outstanding this year but I can't put him top 3 because i am looking at a bit of consistency.

Price had a down year compared to last year still impressive .916 save % behind the worst team in the East with a 22 year old as their number 1 D-man.  Still he is on the way up since most goalies reach their peak around 26.

any list without smith on it loses all credibility. I am a huge Ranger fan and would rather have Mike Smith between the pipes than King Henry at the moment.

I said at this moment. Mike Smith is the hottest goalie in the NHL and has been for the last 2 months probably. As a die hard Ranger fan of course I understand that King Henry is the better/safer goalie overall. This might just be a fluke year for Smith. He sure is fucking up your blackhawks though

well i agree i wondered to , mike smith, did not that well with tampa, vokun not really working too well in washington, and look at these teams they came from , now still goaltenders in net who do well, im thinking phoenix and florida. yeah its their defence and way they play.
i like marty brodeur hes a bit aged, might not be his young self but got some real good experience.

and as a back up netminder schnider is one of the best for sure..look at certian teams in the playoffs if they went to their back up what do you thing would happen....if nashville lost rinne and had to put in lindbeck? lundquist for biron?

Quick is the new breed of goaltender. He eliminates all holes while moving laterally. The only way to beat him is on a rebound, tip or someone making the extra pass that puts him out of position. Beating him on a shot no matter where it's taken is extremely rare. You will not see goalies like Brodeur anymore with the stand up game. It's going to be big goalies that play Quick's style (see Mike Smith) Schneider has a similar style to Quick but isn't as athletic. Going into next season I would rank my top 8 as

Rinne

Quick

Henrik

Smith

Schneider

Kipper

Miller

Price

Fleury (yeah, he's been terrible this series but still). 

I think this is about where I'd slot Schneider, either above or one spot below Rask. And this Mike Smith stuff is absurd...if we know anything we know you can't judge a goalie based on one truly full season and only 4 playoff games. I mean why the hell isn't Luongo on this list?

Luongo?? He will be looking for a job next season. He has been terrible since his time with the World Juniors where he shit the bed for Canada. With that contract I hope the Leafs do not get desperate and take him. I would take at least 15 to 20 goalies in this league before taking Luongo.

Thank you for the people who are smart enough to have Price in the conversation ahead of Schneider.  I'm not saying Schneider won't have a better career - or to date he hasn't posted better numbers in MUCH more limited playing time - but Price has been VERY good the last four years.  And he plays behind a team that for the last three years hasn't been able to score consistently (VCR has scored 37, 46, 57 more goals than the Habs over the last three years) which adds pressure as Price knows if he lets a couple in - he probably won't win.

Price might not be in the top 7 or 8 - but he IS in the conversation for the top 10 - and I'd take him over Schneider right now.

I didn't misread your post. Just hearing Luongo's name set me off there  I can't stand that guy and think he is the least skilled goaltender in the league (including the leagues backups) If he wasn't so big he wouldn't be in the league. I have no doubt in my mind about that

He's not fuckin up my Hawks lol the Hawks are playing heartless and the refs gave all the calls to the Yotes first 3 games. Actually trying watching a game before you sound like an idiot lol.
