Sportsbooks don't sit back and do nothing all day while their customers place endless numbers of questionable bets. The bookies are watching the money on every game all day long. Bookmaking is a science and a numbers game and they have it down.

TX - yes, juice, and any dumb bet you can place, like parlays and teasers, props, etc. Not to mention, they're alot smarter than the majority of gamblers, like all the kids and newbies on Dk and Fd now since it's legal in more places now. MrB said it right, they know wtf the're doing, most gamblers don't. I worked for a local for years, NO ONE was a regular winner, they ALL lost in the end. No brainer.

Vegas which makes up about 5 percent of all sports betting could care less about this or any other game. Juice is the name of the game. Please anyone that has been doing this in Vegas since 1980 comment on this. Some of the people on this thread are making themselves sound stupid. I have seen this for over 40 years. Oh and what you see could be numbers on a side.  Please understand that parlays props and other factors are in play.!

 They make money off the vig.  They aren't taking any risk if the wagers are 50/50, but collecting 10%.  On a Stanley Cup final game, most likely $10 million wagered per casino, that's $1 million profit. 

Pretty easy to determine that this line shift was a consequence of lots of incoming money on Oilers.

Doing this a while starting to wise up of course I think the fan favorite and majority of the bitters and fans wanted to see the Oilers win and like I said it’s never that obvious so after some thought, I said to myself, this is going to be a very intense very defensive game and I was right, and that being said, I decided to go with a total instead of the side and I bet under 5 1/2 so there you go didn’t look good at first. I thought I was gonna get crushed but it ended up great. I feel bad for Canada cause you got about 100,000 people in Florida that are happy. The only reason they go to the game is to cool off and get away from the heat and you got about  1 million people sad  in canada
