well yeah they are better than dallas. bobrovsky best goalie in the playoffs. they hit which is something dallas never did -this one is the telling stat for me.

they have better scoring depth than dallas. coaching is a wash both are excellent.

 If rangers and panthers switched goalies the panthers and shesterkin would have swept bobrovsky and the rangers in four blowout games.

skinner was better vs dal but they did shoot on his crest alot as well + oiler d did block alot of shots. give them credit there for sure.

still they have ceci, brown and nurse. florida is pretty solid top to bottom. most importantly they are physical. dallas is too soft

Dallas had no finishers & nobody who could create offense on their own. They had to work to the max to get their goals. Florida's offense has been much better in the post-season, especially considering they just beat one of the 3 best goalies in the league last round. The keys are going to be Florida staying out of the box & if the real Skinner is the guy from the past few games, or the guy from the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. If Edmonton doesn't score on the PP, this will be a quick series.

Yeah, best record during the regular season & got to the conference finals, but they stink. If the Rangers stink, does that mean there's 3 good teams & 29 terrible ones? You might believe they're a bit overrated based on their record, but if you really believe they're a bad team, you know nothing about the sport.

The Rangers never once beat the Panthers in regulation. They essentially got a 1R bye facing the team with the worst reg. season pts tally to make the playoffs, and in the 2R their opponent Carolina shit-the-bed in multiple games to allow the Rangers to win that series in less than 7 games. Regular season record doesn't mean squat (as the historical playoff results of the president's trophy winner attests to). Rangers were not impressive these playoffs except in regard to their OT results, which alone account for how far they got. OT is a crapshoot. It's like a tennis player going deep in a slam solely on the back of their tiebreak results. Eventually your luck is going to run out. For the Rangers and the Stars, their offenses drying up is what paved the way for their exits The Oilers have the offense. The question for the team with the lowest regular season goal tally of any team to make the Conference finals, is how does its offense fair? That's the key to this series. Florida O vs Oiler D. The Oilers will get their goals (scored at least 2 reg. goals in 13 of their last 14 played).

  Not my way just the way it is and it’s not a slam on Bob, it’s just very clear who the best goalkeeper in the playoffs was and is in general. Bob hasn’t had to be awesome with the dominating and suffocating play of the team in front of him. Shesterkin set a record these playoffs for most consecutive playoff games only allowing 3 goals or less. The NHL record was 19 he broke it vs Florida and he now sits at 21 consecutive playoff games of only allowing 3 goals or less, that’s insane consistency, especially considering he’s playing behind a non championship team that is not an elite team by any means. He also set a Ranger record earlier this season. On 12 October 2023, by winning the 2023–24 season opener against the Buffalo Sabres, Shesterkin became the fastest Rangers goaltender to reach 100 wins, doing so in only 159 outings. Just want to give the guy his due, he’s truly something else and in my opinion the most elite money goalie in the game today.

Never said anything about the Panthers stink. I just the Rangers did. The Rangers don’t score like the Oilers do. Without Shesterkin they would have been swept by the Panthers. There PP was atrocious not even in the same league ans the Oilers PP also the Oilers have better a PK is it not 28 in a row no goals against. So that’s why the Rangers stink. I think the west has better teams top to bottom. Take the first round matchups. Dallas vs Vegas and Colorado vs Winnipeg. Those 4 teams could all beat the Rangers and maybe the Panthers as well. The west had cup contenders gone in the first round because of the way the NHL does the playoffs. They should go back to the 1 to 16 formula.

West looks like the stronger conference, I'm convinced Edmonton will find the sledding much tougher vs Florida than any opponents they have faced in in any previous round. The Panthers aggressive forecheck and their team structured play will be a different animal to contain for the Oilers. The key will be Florida's ability to stay clear of the penalty box + not give the Edmonton power play opportunities. The  Oilers will not be given a free pass standing in front of the net like Dallas allowed. This will be a physical series, and I think that clearly plays into Florida's hands..

Nice discussion boys....the West is not nearly physical as the East. All we heard was Tampa's PP, Rangers PP and now Edmonton's PP.. hate to tell you, Florida stayed out of the box against Tampa, stayed out of the box against Rangers and will stay out of the box vs Edmonton. Agree, Igor is the only reason the Rangers stayed in the series. Heard today the the Rangers didn't score and even strength goal in the last 8 periods of the series. Watched last night game and Dallas never has any presence in front of the net. Florida will bang, bang and bang...but on the other hand, don't give McDavid and company too many opportunities. Should be an interesting series, but I am taking Florida in 6

and sure this is the SCF and not regular season but...Florida won both meetings this season. 

Both teams evenly matched....both very hungry.....toss up....long series.....the only Trump card I believe is held by the Panthers....that Trump card is that they went to the dance last year with a very banged up team...now they are healthy and have last year's experience.....that is the golden tkt to hoist the Cup....good luck and cheers to everyone...it's gonna be a dandy

Most people underestimating the Oilers these playoffs. They love being underdogs.

Florida is built way better. The coach has them going hard all game. And they hit way more .

Oilers I want to win because of futures. Grabbed them when Oilers were on that huge losing streak at the beginning of the season. 

If Skinner doesn't shine and the team doesn't keep blocking pucks, Oilers will be playing catch up and against Florida it won't go very well. 

I can see more scoring in this series because Oilers have a goalie that will be exposed again.

 The Oilers season turned on their massive 16 game winning streak. Prior to that they sported a losing record (13-16), the period of the season in which Florida managed those 2 wins. I'd read more into those results if they came post that season-turning form, but they didn't.
