i believe us PHILLY fans were voted best in the NHL and most intimidating by the opposing players. just really good fans who know their hockey.

This is a joke comment  - - seriously.  I watched the first two games of the series in Toronto (was there on business) with two guys from Pittsburgh in a bar, and all they did was whine all game about the calls, though the Pens got their fair share (the phantom hooking that gave the Pens their first PP in game one to the phantom tripping on Malkin in game 3, to Hal Gill blatantly tripping Richards in Game 2, but no call, it goes on and on). 

Stop it - - all fans whine.  Some of the garbage people put up on here is comical.

Yup were voted the most hockey informed and intelligent fans hockey related and also the most devoted fans as most unlikely to ever switch teams if and when the times get rough. Also voted the fans that provide the best atmosphere for hockey out of pure passion for the game and their team.

Thank you.....All I keep reading here is Pens fans bashing Philly fans but I honestly have yet to read a post about a Philly fan bashing Pens fans...As fans we all get frustrated about calls especially this time of year no matter who your team. The Flyers have an always will have the rep from the old Broad Street Bullies days and just like the Oakland Raiders get flagged more than anyone else all the time the Flyers have to deal with their mystique as well...

..The Oakland Raiders always lead the league in holding penalties and any NFL player or coach has said and will say you can call a holding call on every single play in the NFL if you so chose to as a ref. So certain teams have to deal with certain reps they have. That is not whining it is just the way it is. The Ducks deal with the same crap now yes they play rough but they also get alot of horse shit calls going against them and that is due to their recent reputation. Just like certain players will get away with crap other ones do not. It is human nature.

NHL doesn't care whether it's Pitts or Philly who advances. God forbid the NHL "allows" Philly to advance and only has a hole slew of stars to promote to the public...Richards, Carter, Briere, etc.
 
I do agree guys like Crosby, Malkin (elite stars of the league) to get an extra call here or there, but this is nothing new, suck it up, they are the stars of the league and need, yes need, extra protection as every night they have a target on their backs.
 
With that said, I still say Pitt advances (just spoke with Betman)
 

well said, stars ALWAYS get more calls.... and do you think bettman would be upset if the 5th largest tv market passed on to the second round, hardly

for what its worth, philadelphia led all teams this season with 17.5 PIM/game while the penguins had the 13th fewest in the league.  please don't say the refs are out to get philly when it was proven over an 82 game schedule that they take the most penalties.  then you add in the fact that crosby and malkin draw a ton of penalties and you are obviously going to have more penalties on the flyers.  everyone knows crosby and malkin get some calls but thats what happens when you draw penalties on a night in night out basis in the nhl.  all stars in all leagues get calls (just look at lebron, d wade, and kobe). but these stars have gained the reputation as players who draw a lot of penalties/fouls.  what kills the flyers is the TIMING of the penalties rather than the actual penalties themselves.  if the flyers play smart they have a great chance to win the series.

Have yet to see a thread started about bashing Pens fans either, have only seen ones started about the officiating. There may have been some but I have not seen them. All I read up to that point on a personal level was insults like whiners etc from self proclaimed intelligent Pens fans like yourself. And in those threads regarding the officiating in one particular I went off telling the Philly fans not to bitch and moan and end the thread. Every time an opinion is stated you come back like a little bitch with insults and venom. Is this your intellect level? You sound like your about 17 years old? Or maybe a tad older but a little soft suburbian kid who only knows how to respond with insults. The bitching is not call and I called it as such. I only stated certain teams and players in all sports get singled out due to reputation and that has nothing to do with the Pens. I had a problem with one particular call being made a the end of the game which was a phantom call that ended the game and I would have had issue with it no matter who was playing....In those bitching threads which I don't like all I see is Pens fans coming in and bashing. Why not enjoy the win and let them bitch whoever it is. If there is nothing to it why bother? Your the only priceless thing here precious.

pretty bad calls and noncalls though...fleury was outstanding, sure...but how often did the flyers hit the fucking post? about 28347389 times?

yeah but to go both ways crosby could have iced the game with his shot off the post in the 3rd period. the difference was fleury.  he reminded me of his performance in game 5 of the finals last year. truly outstanding effort

Fleury was simply amazing and the Pens get the huge win, playoffs are about championship goaltending and the Pens got that tonight....I think they close it out next game and my prediction of Pens in 6 falls short by 1 game cause of Fleury tonight....Congrats to Pens backers as I think your all but on to the next round.....
