0-6 since my last update YTD 82W 75L +$875 Still in the black for the season, but fading fast. Tonight ===
Blue-Jackets + 1.5 Goals - 125
Capitals + 160
Wild Even
Coyotes + 160
Kings - 125
So, I'm applying a logistical regress model to the NHL, that is working very well in college & pro basketball. For some reason it is not producing the expected positive results in the NHL. I can't figure out why?? It's possible I'm just running into a streak of very bad luck, or it just doesn't work in hockey. The next few weeks will determine whether I continue using it in the NHL. It's still in an experimental phase. I will post the college basketball play in the appropriate forum. Wish me luck.

I'm dumping the new model as it just doesn't work in the NHL. I'll be going back to my old method that produced 58% winners ATS the last few years. I should have left well enough alone, but the new model was doing so well in basketball, I made the natural assumption it would work in hockey as well. It turned out I was wrong. Why? I have no idea. Live and learn, I suppose. The old method is much more selective. Therefore I will be posting fewer plays. I really appreciate people like you that are loyal followers through thick and thin. I still am confident we will be in the black at the end of this hockey season.
Tonight the model likes the Ducks, So, the Leafs are probably the Lock of the century.

Hahaha funny. I've been around long enough to know theyre are highs and lows, ups and downs. Its a grind. You always make adjustments trying to improve your process. There is nothing wrong with that. Much appreciated!

I think I figured out why the model has been working very well in basketball, but crapping the bed in hockey. I hate to admit it but I think I programmed it in reverse of the way I should have. A major blunder on my part. So, starting tomorrow I will have the updated program ready to fire. I hope this will bring better results. We'll see. Anyhow tonight
Devils - 1.5 - 155 ML
Nico Hischier (New Jersey Devils) Over 2.5 shots on goal - 135.

So the Av's come back to tie the game in the 3rd period. Then they get called for a horrible 2X minor high sticking penalty. The Panther player literally skated into the stick of a player whose back was completely turned to him. Next the Av's player shoot the puck into the crowd. Now their down 5 men to 3 for 4minutes, There goes all the momentum the Av's had after tying the game up. It was hard to watch. But, you can be sure the Panthers will lose their next game in St.Louis. Wait and see.
