Let's hope the drama is over & we can get back to what's important, wagering on more winners than losers. I brought some of the confusion on myself, by talking about betting splits. What I didn't pass on, is that all big Sportsbooks know who is square & who is sharp. The raw numbers that people see on various websites, mixes the 2 together (I'm talking about Action network, Vegas insider etc.). So, you really can't look at the raw numbers, (that are posted), & make the assumption that a higher handle than ticket count is sharp action. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not. The breakdown, I get, filters out the large wagers made by wealthy squares & real sharp action. So, I hope I put that subject to rest.
The 2nd thing that was brought up. Why if the line moved from 1.5 to -2.5 because of the report that Lawrence might not play? Then why is it staying at 2.5 & not moving back to 1.5 when everyone knew that Lawrence WOULD play? This is actually a good question. And here's my answer. The reason that it did not move is that at -2.5 the Sportsbooks were still getting equal action on both sides of the game. So, why move the line? Just rake in the Vig & stay put. You're, in a win-win situation. I stated that you would NEVER see a 3 in a million years, if you go back and read my post. You might still see a -1.5, but as it turned out, it wasn't necessary. I hope this brings some clarity to that subject. Now, let's digress.
