I know I'm in minority but I like the tight low scoring games
To me low scoring, physical, grind it out playoff games are what hockey really is. I expect quite a few OT games in this series in some tight low scoring games (0-0, 1-1). The winner of this series may possibly score less than 10 goals

I love tight low scoring playoff games. BUT...They have to be tight and low scoring for the right reasons. Tight due to incredibly skilled defensive play matched against very creative high skilled offenses, that still create a high enough number of their own chances. Low scoring due to incredible goaltending.
Teams that line up along centre ice (Coyotes) and just wait for opportunities, while praying their goalie keeps them in the game because they lack any real offensive flow or skill to their game, are just junk, and bad for the game of hockey. That shit is not entertaining in the least bit.

I don't mind them either, but the casual fan likes scoring and star power. All 4 teams lack both.
Jonathan Quick... Mike Richards... Jeff Carter... Anze Kopitar... Dustin Brown... Drew Doughty... There's just SOME of your Star Power... Get use to the names.
Many people just don't know West coast teams since there is so much East coast bias in sports.

I'm very excited to watch the Blues/Kings and will be watching every game as a fan. I'll be catching the highlights of the Preds/Coyotes games as a gambler and betting on Nashville pretty much every game. Just being honest.

Against a goalie like Smith you have to be willing to get the dirty goalies. The Hawks are too "pretty" of a team. The Preds can get dirty with the best of them. They will be in Smiths kitchen from the get go. Rinne will make the stops Crawfish couldn't.

Not surprising at all. The simple explanation is that the 4 best goalies in the West remain. The 4 big name teams (Det, Van, SJ, & Chicago) that even the casual East coast fans are familiar with are cleaning their golf clubs. Chicago had no shot this year with their loose defense and poor goaltending.
The 4 remaining teams ranked 1st, 2nd, 5th, & 8th in goals against in the regular season. The two best defensive teams last year played in the finals. This year they meet in the 2nd round.
Nashville finished 8th in GA, but they also score more than the other teams left. They also finished 8th in goals scored mainly due to their top ranked PP unit. The other teams finished 18th, 21st, and 29th.
There are also some really good defensmen left in the West that will start to get some more recognition. Obviously Weber and Suter are well known and Doughty had his nuts rubbed a couple of years ago, but guys like Pietrangelo, Ekman-Larsson, & Yandle will now be in the spotlight. Other young guys like Shattenkirk, Voynov, and Josi will get their first taste of the bright lights.
How would you guys rank the remaining goalies and coaches?
As much as a great story Elliott has been this year I would think he is sucking hind tit to Rinne, Quick, & Smith. Can't argue if any of those three guys were ranked #1 right now. I can't remember a year where you had 4 very hot goalies left in the Conference semi-finals like we have this year.
Have to give the edge to Hitchcock as far as the coaches go. Trotz has always done a nice job. Tippett has proved in his career and especially the last three years that he is an outstanding coach. That leaves Sutter to definitely bring up the rear.
Definitely not a lot of top flight skilled forwards on these teams. It is hard to crack the lineup on these teams unless you are willing to play balls to the wall all of the time. Not many floaters on the rosters.
