In a battle that saw a major flip last night, 24SECV had a perfect 4-0 night while thedeakon struggled as he made 18 selections and dropped 300 points. thedeakon has been really hot on over/under propositions, and hopefully he will remain out of the sun under the snowbird umbrella today as he prepares for tonight's battle, as he can ill afford another day like yesterday.

Lastly, Upset City and DS0589 engaged in a battle of who could consume the most juice yesterday. DS tried to bury UC with 30 picks on the day, but ended up 14-15-1 and down more juice than UC's 2-2. Only a little over 3 games separate these two, so don't be surprised if The Minnesota Mauler shows up with a stake in his hand for today's battle and tries to pin The Vampire to the arena floor with it.

That was the easiest pick of the night haha. Lamar beat SELA by 20 the first time they played them and I only had to give 1 point? Yes please! I'll take my chances on that.

In one of the bloodiest matches of the day, Grambus continued to make steady progress, while TeeLocke tried to make up the ground lost in the previous day and went 4-12. With a 1,940 point differential in this battle, blood is definitely in the sand and it seems only a matter of time before TeeLocke is dragged off the field of battle. 

From an action point of view, Crush and Degosfinest were on the opposite end of the scale, with Dego taking the day off and Crush making 38 picks to pick up 20 points. With almost 1,200 points separating these gladiators, Crush is going to have to have "Luck be a Lady tonight" if he is going to come back this time around.

In a close battle, Thedeakon and 24SECV traded spots as TD picked up 650 points by adding Georgia and dropping Lamar while 24 added 100 with Creighton but lost the lead. TD now has a 290 point lead going into the weekend (yes, Friday is part of the weekend) but this contest is far from over. 

Masterone had an uncharacteristically poor day, losing all 4 of his picks. Unstoppable Force took advantage of the lapse but lost 130 points himself leaving the two separated by 470 points going into the last three days. One good day, and UF could be right back in this one. Will Masterone leave his fate to UF's fortunes or chart his own course? The next three days will show us his frame of mind.

As we speculated yesterday, The Minnesota Mauler did not exactly bare his throat to DS0589. Seeing an opportunity to draw blood himself, Upset City picked 15 games and picked up 560 points to pull ahead of The Vampire by 170 points in one of the closest matches on the board. Clearly, UC is "letting the sun shine in", as he not only took Georgia, but also went with SFA over Lamar in his efforts to send DS0589 to the nether world.

In another match that is now extremely close, Philly may have the Liberty Bell, but WBellhaven has the Mojo going, as he picked up 400 points yesterday to draw within 140 of our own Phanatic. Philly showed his disdain for tradition (also known as Coach K) and it cost him on this day. With both competitors well into the + column, this may well be the most difficult battle to lose in the 2nd round.

Manny55146 had a tough day yesterday and finds himself 810 behind Taylor today. Taylor may not have this contest sewn up yet, but if Manny falls on his sword again today, we'll be tieing his ankles to the chariot. Despite know SFA would prevail, his 3-6 record allowed Taylor to add 240 to his lead with only 3 days left. So far, this battle has been Taylor made!

Lastly, Mondo has turned things around, going 3-0 yesterday while Sixbankz went 2-3 for a 430 point swing. That was enough to put Mondo in the lead by 350, not enough to be declared the winner, but it is enough to put some pressure on the Six Shooter who has made 10 picks in 4 days. This one should be fun to watch for the next three days, as both competitors have been inconsistent.

So I want to share with you guys a story about my experience. I've never had surgery before so this was something that was weighing on my mind for the past couple of weeks. The schedule was set about 6 weeks ago so as the time drew closer I was getting more nervous. The surgery I had was a colonoscopy. I encourage everybody over 50 to get one but let me share my experience. 

The Head Nurse was getting me prepared asking me questions about my health. When she started telling me about the drugs that would be used to put me under, she mentioned propofol. I said 'isn't that the drug that killed Michael Jackson'? She said yes and I I said well as long as Dr. Murray isn't in the room that will be ok. She cracked up. She then started asking me about Sleep Apnea. I told her I don't think I have it but my Doctor has been wondering about it. So the Nurse asks my wife if I snore. My wife says yes so they decide that it my be best to have the anesthesiologist give me Fetanyl. I said 'Isnt that the drug that killed Prince'? She said yes. I said I love Prince. 

So when the anesthesiologist comes in she's all peppy asking me so you like Prince. i said oh yeah. She then ask me if I drink Budweiser. I said Budweiser? This is Oregon I drink the good stuff IPAs. She says 'Alright that's what I'm talking about'. Let's get this party started. So they wheel me into the operating room and they're blasting Prince music. I was knocked out in minutes. LMAO! Woke up and it was over. Only in Portland can you get a wacky medical staff like this. But you know what, it was a good experience and I appreciate their sense of humor.

Glad to see you are back and in good spirits.

I'm with you knowing what surgery is like.  I was in on Feb 17th.  I was talking to the neurosurgeon about the  DR. Strange movie that just came out and next thing I know I am waking up in the recovery room,hardly remembering anything.

Technology  nowadays is great.

We all knew the rules Unstoppable and even in my previews I did state that this is in his wheel house. The only way to beat the Champ is to beat him at his own game. I think at this point maybe it will take someone like Degosfinest to knock the Champ out. We will see. Best of luck this Weekend though if anybody can do it you can.

Thanks Thedeakon. I told Frankie (Greeneyedevils) he's Canadian as well, that the way things are going in the U.S.A. you guys might have to build a Wall to keep us out of Canada. LOL. I'm just glad I had insurance to cover this.

Yeah I feel sorry for you guys down there.,but be careful what you wish for. Who we have here  might not be the best either.  O well. All we can do is wait for 4 years!!!

In the meantime I think this is the best Forum yet. Nice to have someone like Smooth running it.

I was gone for 2 days and an imposter has suddenly taken over TeeLocke. The once conservative Queen of the Battle Forum became a raging maniac losing 4000 points in 3 days. That’s a stat that would make JohnnyUtah blush and that’s saying something. TeeLocke must have pressed the panic button when  Grambus put the full the court press on. All we know now is that Grambus fans are serenading him as he leans over the devasted TeeLocke and gives her that Grambus smile.

 CRUSH STUNS DEGOFINEST!

Crush had an epic day as Degofinest’s fans begged their hero to do something as Crush pummeled him with repeated blows to the tune of racking up 950 points. Crush is having memories of that epic comeback against Smoothd back in Battle Forum I. Crush went an incredible 26-15 to put some serious pressure on Degosfinest who has been playing the rope-a-dope game the whole battle. Now that Crush has caught fire Degosfinest better get on his horse or he will be facing certain death as Crush isn’t the Gladiator you want to take lightly.

Like Nortorious B.I.G. once said “if you don’t know now you know”. He must have been talking about DS0589 AKA the Vampire who rose up and opened up a can of Whoop A** on Upset City. The Vampire called on his dark forces to put up an incredible 1070 points by going 25-13. You gotta feel sorry for Upset City because he had no idea what hit him and the onslaught was such a surprise Upset City just couldn’t respond. Instead of taking out the dagger like Atlanta said Upset City would, DS0589 grabbed the dagger and B slapped Upset City into another dimension. If you don’t know now you know.

MANNY RISES!

Manny knows its crunch time and now that this Gladiator has experienced the battles he answered the bell to put a dent in Taylorallstars lead. This battle is far from over as Manny still has some work to do but based on what we've seen so far today this lead is hardly insurmountable.
