Historic first home ACL game for the Jets tonight. It's also a game they must win to have any chance at prgressing through the group stages. The rule of thumb in this comp is to win at home, draw away - so coming off a 0-2 away loss to Beijing makes this game all the more crucial.
Helping the Jets is the fact that the ACL also fits in with the start of the Korean K-League, meaning that this is the 2nd of what will be 3 games in 10 days for the Koreans.
In the face of this, they have left 12 players back in Korea from the team that was towelled 3-1 at home to Nagoya Grampus.
New strike trio Donny De Groot, Sasho Petrovski and Fabio Vignaroli showed some promising signs last week in China and can only get better with more time together. Skipper Matt Thompson has also been cleared to play.
Newcastle burned me a lot in the A-League, but I'm willing to put my neck out and say this is an ideal spot for them
