At first glance i thought the line was a bit skinny in this matchup, along with the bad record against the saints which dates back to 2002 (0-11) is the inability for the much improved carlton side to find some consistency. No doubt they have been very competitive in VIC this season and are not a team that lacks any talent. I'm sure ratten will have his boys fired up for this and have'em prepared to give it all but just can't see the saints losing with geelong clash just around the corner. Thought about taking carlton for the 1st half but i'll just stick with this play,

Don't mind the pick at all here jdoo...only concern is that the Saints have the greatest defence in the League, thus if they shut down Fev...where will all the goals comes from for the Blues?

Sure they can manage to keep it competitive going against the comp leaders even if they shut down fev, i agree with the books and think this game will be closer then people expect. Saints haven't been their best in the last couple of rounds, not long ago the bombers got within 19. Carlton are capable of playing good footy esp at ethiad front of the pact crowd. At the end of the day, i'm taking the saints to win by 6 goals or less.

Over the years the bulldogs have adapted well to the hot and humid conditions when playing in darwin so it shouldn't be a concern for the inform doggies who are 2-0 in the last two years at marrara and 5-0 on these neutral ground games (inc manuka & aurora). Perfect weather and a matchup against the road weary port who are depleted by injuries should favor a comfortable win for the bulldogs once again. Not gonna take a big risk though as port are no strangers at this ground and could play well enough to stay within 4 goals.
