BOL mate and go the Aussies, although I also can't see them turning things around in this one. The "old" Australia team, yes, but I just don't think our current team has the weapons. Unless the Saffers have a shocker, it's quite possibly 2-0 after this test imo. 

I heard the curators saying that it will favour the quicks, hence Hilfenhaus? No. The bloody Gabba will be the best pitch in Australia, unless the SGC can be lively but - the state games have been pretty even tracked.

absolutely, a decade ago, you could write 1000 words on the characteristics of each pitch at each major test venue in Australia. Nowadays the difference between most of them is pretty negligible. Even Perth is a featherbed. 

Like you, I'd have loved to see Hilfenhaus given a crack tomorrow. Quite frankly I thought by bringing him into the squad in the first place it was a pretty poignant sign that he'd be in the XI.

BUT, on the big stage of a boxing day test, with Australia 0-1 down in the series, I suppose you've gotta give the likes of Brett Lee the chance to either rescue his country's hopes and his own career, or sink into eternal oblivion.   

If they were loyal to Lee, which they have shown to be - why not play Hilfenhaus instead of Siddle? This seriously baffles me...
