I realise this is going to be inconsequential in the washup but did anyone understand what his tactic was (and Ponting to a lesser extent) in the 30min leading up to lunch? They both scored 14 runs in the last 30min with Haddin scoring 1 run.
Australia I would have thought were trying to get as many runs as they could before setting up a declaration. Clarke just before his dismissal started throwing his bat at everything. Hussey comes in, scratches around and then gets out. But then Haddin comes in and scores 1 off 20 balls. No intent whatsoever to score runs.
Did you guys see Clarke's reaction when he called them in after 2 overs after lunch when declaring? He was pretty pissed off and rightly so
Very selfish batting from Haddin. A guy who was batting to save his career and not for the team.
Hopefully he does not get selected for the Windies tour
