Ok City lost some important ground this past week to San Antonio in the race for the top playoff seed in the West, as narrow losses vs. Nuggets and Grizzlies have put Thunder in full-blown chase mode to catch Spurs. But schedule might be breaking right for Scott Brooks’ bunch, at least for tonight, as Portland enters Chesapeake Energy Center at the tail end of five-game road trip.   Blazers might be hard-pressed to continue recent hot long-range shooting on road (Portland had hit 49% beyond arc in last five away from home after last Thursday’s win at Chicago), and Blazers were on short end of 106-92 scoreline in last visit to this site on Nov. 2 when Thunder’s Russell Westbrook dominated proceedings with 32 points.  Ok City has usually provided good spread value at home this season (24-11 vs. number), so don’t mind laying reasonable price.

Sunday 10-11-1. NCAAB was a dreadful 2-9 but the NBA was an awesome 8-2-1. Noticed lots of dogs covered as typical on Sunday. I knew I had too many faves but that is info that I had.

Going to roll again on fade of Heat with Orlando at least +13. Also Orlando 1H and Mia minus points in 4th Qtr.

Too easy to take Robert Morris after beating Kentucky as they are getting 8.5 at Providence. Early action on R Morris, now at +7.5. Give me Providence at least -7 (no half points) if it drops farther..

Going to ride with KC Royals tonight, staying with them.

Looks like Quick is going to get the start today against Chicago Blackhawks

La Kings GF away from Home (first period) = 0.5 and GA = 1.00

7-3 as posted Monday. Finally a good day. Nice win in shootout by Boston Bruins for the NHL chase system. Official system plays now 12-1 and unofficial system plays 2-1. We have some plays for tonight.

MONTREAL ML (GM1 of 2) (2% or 2 unit profit play) (please note this is a 2 game chase)

TAMPA ML (GM1 of 3) (1% or 1 unit profit play)

CAROLINA ML (GM3 of 3) (1% or 1 unit profit play) (Please note 3rd string goalie Peters in net. This weakens the play. You can skip and spread losses out on future chases or play to win half, break even or losses +1% profit, it's up to you. I probably should skip but I'm going for half my losses back. It it loses it will count as a loss.)

Personal chase Carolina OVER GM3. Record 14-1 for season.

I'm going to try FLORIDA ML, OT included. The Panthers are dead last in the league with just 24 points. Realistically speaking, they have no chance of making the playoffs. Florida will play out the season under no pressure and that adds to its appeal in certain situations. This is one of them. The Panthers have given the Maple Leafs fits over the years, winning eight of the past 11 meetings while scoring four or more goals in seven of the last eight. Future franchise goaltender Jacob Markstrom is the real deal and is capable of stealing a game on his own. Wrapping up a five-game trip with two wins in four tries and an opportunity to make it a winning one, the Panthers are not going to be an easy out tonight and they catch the Leafs at a good time.

Toronto had lost eight straight to the Bruins prior to a home-and-home series on Saturday and Monday. The Leafs picked up three out of a possible four points and even though they blew a 2-0 lead last night, they’re feeling pretty satisfied about that. After playing back-to-back against the B’s, playing its third game in four days and with Carolina and Ottawa on deck, Toronto could be trouble here. The Leafs are greatly improved but we’re not sure they’re worthy of this billing just yet, especially in a difficult spot while having no success in shootouts this entire year.

NY Rangers ML. It’s been tough sledding for the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers this season. Both teams have been fighting just to stay in the playoff picture, and if the season ended today the Rangers would barely get in as the #8 seed and Philadelphia would be at home watching it on TV. Much more was expected from both of these teams this season and both squads feature plenty of talented players that know how to win. Injuries and chemistry issues have plagued both teams, but you can see it starting to turn for the Rangers a bit. They are healthier now than they’ve been all year and they finally comfortable with their line pairings after doing some shuffling earlier in the season. The Rangers should also come into tonight’s game with some extra confidence as they have dominated the Flyers over the last couple of seasons. They’ve won 10 of the last 11 meetings and have outscored Philly 41-18 over that stretch. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has also posted a sparkling 1.63 goals against average during that run.

Loyola is getting nearly 4 points here tonight and they have a better overall RPI Number than East Carolina. Loyola is 8-3 this season vs teams ranked 100 to 150 in the RPI, While East Carolina is 0-3 vs any team ranked 51 to 100 in the RPI Scale. East Carolina is under .500 this season vs winning teams, while Loyola has a winning record against teams over .500. Even better is their 24-5 spread mark as a road dog from +3.5 to +6. They are 4-1 in their last 5 tournament games as well. Both team are coming off their best defensive efforts of the season, both allowing their opponents to shoot 27% from the field last out. Look for Loyola to keep this one close.

The Loyola Maryland Greyhounds are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games against teams winning 60% or more of their home games. They have a great defense that has held opponents to 63.3 points per game this season. The Greyhounds have held opponents to 29.8% from beyond the three point line which is critical in this game considering Eastern Carolina averages 23 three point attempts per game.

East Carolina has struggled against good teams recently. They are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games against teams winning 60% or more of their games and they are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 against teams with a winning record. The Pirates defense has been horrible allowing 71.7 points per game. They have allowed over 45% shooting in six of their last seven games which is unacceptable for a team that is not great at rebounding and does not force many turnovers.

The Boston Celtics should be a heavier favorite tonight over the New York Knicks. I'll gladly take and advantage and back the Celtics, who are 24-10 SU & 20-13-1 ATS at home this season. The Knicks are getting too much respect from the books due to their 4-game winning streak heading into this one. All four of those wins came against non-playoff teams in the Magic, Jazz and Raptors (twice).

Boston comes in undervalued due to its 4-game losing streak heading into this one. Three of those losses came on the road against the Grizzlies, Mavs and Hornets, while the other came at home to the defending champion Miami Heat by a final of 103-105.
As you can see, the Celtics come in battle-tested, and they are clearly more motivated for a victory to put an end to this skid. They have won 11 of their last 14 meetings with the Knicks overall, and 25 of their last 34 home meetings dating back to 1996.

The Celtics are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 home games. Boston is 4-0-1 ATS in its last 5 games playing on 2 days rest. The Celtics are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Knicks are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
