Ahhhhhhh. States in the bag at +221 with a 10-5 win over Sweden. Both Italy and Scotland 2 up coming home without the hammer and give up deuces to go to an extra end.
 
Guess I will be staring at a computer screen for the next 15 to 20 minutes

And they both give up steals in 11 to lose the game. That is women's curling in a nutshell.

I may lose this one, but I will take a defending gold medalist and two time world champion at +196 anyday of the week. Give me Sweden over Canada

 And Sweden did come through for us there and ended up losing to China in the final, which meant I hit my +900 China ticket to win it all. Amazing how succesful a team can be when they do nothing but curl day in and day out.
 
So between the end of the Scottie's, the Brier and the Women's worlds, we have had a profitable run, let's see if we can wrap it up with the Men's worlds, that starts tomorrow. I already have China at +900 for highest ranking team (which excludes Canada), may look at Norway too. Be back with some bets on the opening draws later.

FUTURES- 2 units onChina highest ranking team (other than Canada) +900, I also have Scotland at +500, Norway +1000 and China +1600 to win it all with Scotland at 2 units, the other two at 1 unit.
 
I realize Martin will probably win this, but he did win the worlds last year, so he may not be quite as hungry and the fact that the Brier always means more to these guys than the worlds, so there is a chance for a let down here.
 
Opening draw games and one really stands out to me and that is Finland at -120 over the Czechs. The Fins have three quarters of their team, that won a Silver medal in the last Olympics, granted they have a new skip, but they should be a decenlty solid team versus potentially the worst team in the field. I am 4 units on it and 2 units on them -1.5 +150.
 
Other plays for opening draw are 2 units on Scott/Swiss over 12.5 (+114), 1 unit on Germany/Usa over 12.5 (-113), along with 1 unit  on Germany at even money.
 
I'n probably playing a few more units than I should on this opening draw, but we have had some great success over the last month at curling, so it allows us for a little step up spot here. Good luck.

Will update later, on China tonight -135 for 2 units,  China/France under 12.5 -126 for 2 units, and Japan +4.5 even.

Up 7.3 units for the day, one play in the morning and that is on the Swiss over Germany  3 units at -110 and 2 units at -1.5 +

Kapp has been around forever and always is your prototypical .500 guy or slightly below it. Stockli from the Swiss, is also well traveled in the Worlds circuit but has a much better resume to his credit. Throw in an impressive win over Scotland today and to get them at near even money, I feel is a strong play.

That one hurt, up two after nine, give up the deuce in 10 and then a steal in 11. Drop 5.3 units on it, to leave us sitting at +2 units after the morning draw.
 
For the afternoon we have the following
 
France +4 1 unit
France/Canada under 12 1 unit
Den/Finl ov 12.5 1 unit
Norway -2.5 1 unit
China/Japan un 12.5 2 units
 
For the evening draw already locked into two totals big
 
France/Japan under 12.5 4 units
Germany/Scotland over 12.5 (ev money) 2.5 units

On more thing..... in last years Worlds France was a staggering 2 overs and 9 unders in games if the line had been set at 12.5. Hence the big under for tonight. I find the Asian teams also lead to unders more.

Piocked up 2 units this morning, could have been more if this Finnish skip could make a shot. If he keeps playing like has been, might be good fade material for the week.

Already on two totals tonight, going to add as follows.

Japan 2 units at +150 and 1 unit +1.5 -120

Swiss 3 units -127 vs USA

China 1 unit +3 vs Canada

Scotland  2 units -1.5 -110 vs Germany.

Picked up a .5 unit, totals were solid, lines I was out to lunch on.

Sorry Sungod, I am not sure. Everything north of the border is on TSN and I am not sure if there is any footage otherwise. Went 2-2 this morning, still sitting at +4.5 units. Did well this afternoon, on Canada -4.5 and the Japan/Finland over, but as I didn't post, we won't count them. On to tonight.

Man, did I get screwed tonight. I had Canada -2.5. In world curling, even if the last stone of the end is not thrown, whatever rocks left in the ring STILL COUNT. I know this to be true because it has screwed me over multiple times in the past.

Someone messed up tonight. Canada had one stone left in the rings in the 10th and TSN even called the final 7-4. Well, the official score has been posted as 6-4 which means I lose my bet.

What a rip off.

Sorry to disagree with you Angelus, but the last rock of the end needs to be thrown, in order for it to be an official end. Vic screwed up on the commentary, because Germany had lost rock but had no chance to win, so they shook.
 
I am still reeling that I had the Japan over big and there was 8 points after 4 ends, and they could only muster 4 over the next 6 ends.
 
Boy if the juice wasn't so heavy, I would be all over Canada in the morning, because I saw the Swiss miss two open hits tonight, which is unbelieveable in the Worlds.
 
I'm on two dogs in the morning Japan and France and will continue to ride the France under train, which is found money, usually. Bounce back tomorrow Angelus.

Sorry, but you're wrong. Those are the Canadian rules. The World rules are different and I know it as a fact because I've been screwed (and have benefited) from it many times. Vic didn't screw up. He's been doing this for decades and knows how the scoring works in the Worlds compared to Canada.

Okay, I've been reading the rules and I think I may have figured it out. Because Germany was mathematically eliminated the points don't count. If it had been the other way around and it was Canada who didn't throw their final rock, the points would have counted.

So whatever. Maybe I'm wrong. I do know for sure there is a difference there between Canadian and Worlds rules. I remember first finding out about the difference when losing a bunch on Kelly Scott in a round robin game a few years ago.

Hmm radar was off on the Swiss game. I see they have taken Stockli off of calling the game and put that in the hands of Eggler. Apparently it was their game plan to play conservative, so will have to watch that going forward.
 
Will keep with the found money of the tourney so far and stick to France under 12.5 tonight. Also like China big and Denmark. Will also play Martin -1.5 vs Norway.  May be a dumb move, as Norway played them twice last year and lost 9-8 and 5-4.Good luck

Clean sweep tonight, including big plays on China and the under in the France game.
 
After watching Canada dismantle Norway tonight, I don't even want to think what they are going to do to Finland in the morning.
 
Locked in, in the am Canada -4.5 and under 12. Although they have dropped the line to 12, I still have to stick with the found money of France under and also going to take Czech/Japan under 12.5 big.

Glad the Czechs shook when the did, to give us the total under. Split the Canada wager, and France finally had an over, getting pounded by Norway.
 
This afternoon on China, the over on that game, the Swiss/Japan under big and Canada -2.5 at some big juice.

Sorry H, missed your post, was caught up in family duties. Just as well, I was on Japan and Canada -1.5 small, but were both losers.
 
Love the one matchup today, Swiss vs Germany in the tiebreaker. Since Stockli gave up calling the game, they are 5-0 with 5 unders. I think they are the better team, so I will take them at even money and the under both big.
 
Other game, I will take Norway... expensive at -156 and the over 12.5 against the US for smaller amounts.
