Theres no 'auto racing' forum here at covers. Just a NASCAR forum, but i feel like only hillbillies watch those junkers drive in a circle.
I didnt know where to put this thread. This seemed like the only logical place. Plus i know alot of the people who visit this corner of 'Covers' are not from the USA and i know that Formula One is more popular overseas than it is here.
Anyway, i'd like to find a group of people who are interested in discussing current Formula One current events/news/races/standings/wagers/etc.
Let's start with this:
Bernie Ecclestone, Formula Ones' commercial rights owner, was quoted as saying Adolf Hitler was a man who knew how to "get things done." Bernie then went on to say that the West (USA) had been wrong to exterminate Saddam Hussein, saying "He was the only one who could control that country (Iraq)."
If that wasn't enough, he once said that all women should be dressed in white "like all other domestic appliances."

yes im a big fan of F!, been following it for 20 years. unfortunately its all about brawn and red bull this year due to changes in dynamics in cars. so i would be pretty confident in brawn and red bull next week. bernie has lost the plot and needs to step down for the sake of F1 moving forward.

Ferrari second to last in Constructors standings. Wasn't ever like this when i was growing up. (excluding '07)
And i dont know about you but i miss Schumacher.
and im about sick of Button winning every damn race.
Who do you like in Germany next week? Hamilton ran great there last year. Doesnt seem to have the car/crew this year.
Ferrari have had their pants caught down at the start of the season with the second tier teams like Brawn and Red Bull getting the jump on them in terms of the technology around Kers. McLaren are in the same boat and have essentially written of this season to focus on next season.
Schumacher was great but let's not kid ourselves, he clearly enjoyed the benefit of having the best engineers, best director and best package for the majority of his career.
Button is basically taking advantage of having the better car at the start of the season but now Red Bull have caught up and I believe he has met his match in Sebastian Vettel.
Hard to go past Vettel at home, like I said Mclaren are done for the season and are already lloking ahead to next year

you can tell that top 50 list is prepared by a british magazine since they somehow managed to put jim clark as number oneridiculous to put schumacher at 3,the guy has 91 wins,7 championships.just remember how bad ferrari were when he got there..
hands down,m schumacher is the best ever, followed by senna.
since schumi left, the excitement of the sport went down faster than a person's bra.

gee i thought prost was better than senna. prost h2h with senna won more races... hamilton championship seems abit wasted now after the cheating claims against them which was factual, copying some aerodynamics from ferrari. raikkonen is a dud and should be replaced after this year, he hasnt got the hunger anymore. i hope webber wins a grand prix soon, he deserves one. comin from an aussie. lol

Bernie is a SENILE HALF-WIT with absolutely no idea of what actually transpires around him. If it were up to him, this season's F1 title race would be OVER as Button would have it wrapped up under Bernie's half-cocked scheme.
IDIOT.
His quotation about Hitler should be more provocative because it displays a total lack of SENSE or INTELLIGENCE. If anyone can figure out what he actually means here, let me know:
“In a lot of ways, terrible to say this I suppose, but
apart from the fact that Hitler got taken away and persuaded to do things
that I have no idea whether he wanted to do or not, he was in the way that
he could command a lot of people, able to get things done.
“In the end he got lost, so he wasn’t a very good dictator because either he
had all these things and knew what was going on and insisted, or he just
went along with it . . . so either way he wasn’t a dictator.”
WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN? Absolute nonsense! I have no idea what he means to say!
And then this doozy:
"The
Americans probably thought Bosnia was a town in Miami."
Okay Bernie. Whatever. FYI, Miami is a TOWN. The state is FLORIDA. How such a complete and total moron can control the biggest racing circuit in the world is almost impossible to understand.

The Kinetic Energy Recovery System wasn't the reason for Ferreri and McLarens decline, it was the rear diffuser package that Brawn and Red Bull had to start the season. Red Bull has caught up to Brawn and Vettel will likely win Germany but Button will still win some races and run away with the Championship.

i went to indy before it got removed. Ralph Schumaker slammed into the wall right in front of me and my buddies. probably all the alcohol we had in us but it seemed liked we were the only people in the section who high fived and cheered. thinking back, it wasnt very appropriate.
sidenote --- I WILL NEVER IN MY LIFE FORGET THE FEELING IN MY CHEST WHEN I WALKED UP THE STEPS, SAW THE TRACK IN PERSON, AND THIS CAR FLEW PAST ME PUSHING 200MPH!! ONE OF THE GREATEST THINGS I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. NO JOKE! I was nowhere near prepared for the bone rattling, chest thumping, scream of those cars. Truly amazing! If you are a fan, but never saw it in person, bump that to the top of your list of things to do before you die. I just got chills reliving that moment.
F***K NASCAR
