India v. New Zealand - 2nd ODI

Going to be frank here and take India for the win.  They were very straight-forward and dominating in the 1st ODI and possibly could have played better.  India has won 23 of its last 32 ODIs and New Zealand's form looks to be waning after taking out the Australians.  India is definitely out to improve its game and with McCullum just announced as doubtful, I am going to give a run with the Indians here before the lines get skewered with the McCullum announcement.

Absolutely with you on the Indians HOH

Whilst the toss could have a great influence (the ball really moved about in the 2nd innings of the 1st match), D&L could have an unpredictable influence on the match and McCullum is likely to battle on given his been batting in the nets, the Indians have such a formidable batting lineup that it'd be silly not to take them at this price.  Add to that the fact that their bowlers seem to be hitting a good line.

Lets get that cash HOH

What's the weather in Wellington?  Morbe said a rain-out for sure.  Any idea?

We'll probably see some Duckworth/Lewis, no?
 
The weather could also be a huge factor on the Hurricanes match as well.  Need to get some input from those on the ground!  Thanks!

Supposedly now, 90 minutes before the toss, McCullum is in.

Anyone confirm this?

McCullum will play as bastmen only...Just waiting for weather update shortly.. Auckland has perfect weather to watch TV

Morbe mate, let me in on your thoughts with this ODI.  You fancy the Indians as I do?  I know you are a Kiwi through-and-through, but this is about making dosh, not being patriotic.

How's the weather looking?  Are we going to see some play or is this going to be a farcical, DL affair?

No rain in last hour..cloudy.....not much info, will have to wait till pregame coverage in 1hour

Gonna wait till pregame to see weather and team lineups and obviously the toss will play a part in my decision.


As Seen in the 20/20's India are coming out swinging and NZ need a few early wickets to stem this approach. Although i back NZ to chase down any rain reduced target with strike power of Ryder, McCullum,Taylor, Oram and southee/mills combo at death.


278/4 off 38 overs... what would they have after 50?

Mcglashan is a good replacement wicket keeper/batsmen.
Mills got absolutely destroyed last game/look for much better game (injury cloud was hanging over him before game?)..

Would like to see Southee get the nod.


Me Patriotic I have not once mentioned in this thread the Kiwis holding the Rugby League World cup and the 4/1/2 years wait till Auzzies get another go at it....

New Zealand have a good record at the Westpac Stadium, winning ten ODIs and losing five. They have won the last five contests at the ground


India are not expected to take any risks with Ishant Sharma. Praveen Kumar, the man who replaced Ishant, had a stellar first game but Munaf Patel will have to step up.

Duckworth and my boy Lewis will come into pay IMO and therefore I'm leaning NZL... but like you said bias

NZL = were gona bat first.....McCullum bat only,Neil Broom out..Southee 12th man


Possible Showers, but with the high winds good to dry for duckworth lewis possibility

Tendulkar falls as soon as we get out of the rain stoppage. 

I think if the rain hadn't come............India would have kept going bonkers....
