Hawks -4.5 over Slingers (5)
 
One team coming off an absolute pasting at home against another team coming off their best win of the season and quite possibly their franchise history. I wouldn't call this as a system play as such but whenever the losing team comes into the next game as a favourite as a favourite I back them to bounce back. It's a case of buying the Hawks as a cheap favourite tonight as the fact remains the Slingers are still 0-8 on the road, now with a potential letdown spot after their win on Sunday, until proven otherwise this team is fade material on the road.
 
No interest in the Fox game today.

On the other side tonight mate, but at least you got the line at a point lower than me, so here's hoping the hawks get em by 5.
 
I agree that the Slingers are horrible on the road, but if beating the reigning premiers on your own dunghill doesn't fire you up to go out on the road and win, nothing will. I was impressed by the fact that in the 4th qtr against Brisbane the Slingers not only held their lead, but actually increased it. Sure the Bullets were fouling and trying to jackup threes, but the Slingers are hardly known for their coolness under pressure.

GL today Rod...not happy they have taken one of your green bars from you, and the Aviator (less) isn't great either, maybe Covers will fix this for you as you are a great asset for all of us on this site.

Well done mate - with the Slingers up by 1 at the turn, I thought I might have read it right. But no, they fell to bits on the road again. Good call

Ok getting down on this one early. I can't believe this line with the Breakers without Rickert. Greene has been out of the game for a while now, he is actually quite a decent player with defense being his hallmark. But I don't see him being able to carry the home team in is very first game, it's going to have to take another Penney and Jones special from outside for the Breakers to have a chance in this one IMO, however against the best perimiter defensive team in the league I don't see it happening.

Agreed and also on it. This Kings team is on the march, and I can't see why the Breakers won't be another speed bump.

I haven't even looked at it champ. Got to get past the NFL and NBA before looking at the NBL for tomorrow night.

Small one for some action for Friday. No real need to go into too much other than the only thing that will stop this one going over is the fact that the Wright might want some more defensive intensity from his players after conceding 115+ on Sunday against the lowly Slingers. Still worth the risk:

For Saturday..
 
I was all set to take the Cats catching 7 points against the Tigers but found out that Loughton didn't travel with the team to Melbourne and there is also doubt around Rogers' status for tonight. With that in mind I have to pass on them as I don't see any value in the line now.
 
Sixers apparently get Maher back tonight against the Kings who are obviously rolling right now. One thing is for sure is that 9.5 even at home is still not enticing enough to play the dog here, not reading too much into their win against the Pigs last week as we all know that the Sixers shot the lights out of the ball in the first half yet they still nearly blew the game. Lean on the Kings even though they are playing their second consecutive game on the road.
