Steve Smith isn't the best spin bowler in his Shield team, so he can't be the best in the country. He may not even be in the top 2 for NSW. Haurtiz is ordinary, but the best we've got

Watson is opener or an all-rounder. Can't be both. Marsh isn't opener, too injury prone (see Harris, Ryan). Hughes is 2-3 years away from being a Test opener. If he is the future then blood him @ 6. So who opens?

Hazlewood, Starc and Pattinson are the future and should be brought in around 2 years time, and Maddinson once Hussey goes

If Clarke doesn't find form who comes in for him? There is no batsmen dominating at Shield level.
