Why are the Dogs laying only 4.5 to the Dockers?

Ok admitedly I've only had a cursory interest in the AFL thus far and haven't watched as many games as I would have liked but looking at the fortunes of the respective teams so far this season I have to ask why are the Dogs laying less than a goal in this one? Sure you have the Subiaco factor but has tor that really been a factor for either of the WA teams this season seeing how poorly they have been playing to date? Freo are coming off possibly their most demoralising losses in recent times by allowing the worst team in the league to overturn a 50 odd point deficit whilst the Dogs remain undefeated.

Personally I think the Dockers are great value for the spoon this season. Why was this team so highly rated by the markets in the preseason?

Something I've been thinking about all weekend, still without answers.
 
I've gone for then dogs to cover but an equally good bet IMO are the dockers to win 1st quarter. They really have copped a lot of abuse in the media in subi so they'd have to start strong.
 
Freo although only 1 win has competed very well with some of the best sides.
1 pt loss Geelong
15 pt Hawthorn
 
But really to lay only 4.5 pts for a top 4 side with their best side in for the year have to back the dogs.

tozer, you got moosed on the 1st Quarter due to a silly turnover of the ball to Aker.  I feel for you there.  It is one thing I pointed out in my thread about how I believe the Dogs will win and pip this spread......silly turnovers leading to goals.

Announcer has mentioned that the pace to the Dockers/Dogs match is being played out at full bore at the players are already becoming winded.

HUGE advantage to the Doggies as they are, by far, the fitter team.  Looks like the Dockers may have outdid themselves.  I look for the Dogs to start pulling away now.  They are down 53-52 at the moment, 2nd Quarter.

Have a look at the thread title mate. I think the way the Dockers have played thus far has just answered my question.

I tend not to apply my gmabling skepticsim when it comes to the local footy like the American sports but this one really baffled me - how on earth could the Dogs be laying not even a goal against a team that got embarrased by the Dees a fortnight ago?
