Illawarra Hawks @ Adelaide 36ers: 36ers -4.5

Grabbing this line right now, game is on Thursday Night. I expect home court to be massive in all the NBL finals this year. 36ers only laying -4.5 at home is a little suspect but I will take it anyways as I expect them to be very hard to beat at home and Hawks haven't been the best travelers this season winning just 6 from 14 road games. Randle just named MVP, I expect him to shine along with the others in this home game.

Well this win in the WNBL tonight ruins all plays this weekend.. I was hoping that the Capitals could actually win the game as a -11.5 vs the team coming last but i was completely wrong. I love this league. Last weekend they thrash a team with so much experience and talent (Bendigo) and now they come out and lose to the leagues worst team. don't get me wrong, Adelaide will be good in the years to come with the young ladies they have but to lose this game is just insane.

So as the table stands:

Sydney 1st
Perth 2nd
Fire 3rd
Dandenong 4th.

Now the only teams that can move are Fire and Dandenong. They are both on the same win percent. The Rangers play Saturday night at 6.30 vs Perth in Dandenong and the Townsville Fire play the Capitals at 8pm so there is an hour and a half difference. if the Rangers can win and beat Perth, than that makes the Fire's game very important. But do Fire want to play either Perth or Sydney 1st round? And thats also the same for Rangers.. Interesting.

Cheers mate.. A little disappointed that the WNBL games mean nothing because I was gearing up for some decent plays this weekend. Only games that mean something are the ones with Fire and Rangers involved.

Interesting note, the Taipans 2nd unit has been the most efficient out of all the teams. Very interesting. This line is definitely a tough one. Last week, Perth were -1.5 at Cairns, now in the post-season Cairns laying -2.5. Still, I have to agree with Jive Turkey and what he said a few weeks ago with the Taipans and laying points with them and their ethic as well as coach Fearne.

Nah I have to say I don't have a feeling at all about this game tonight. One part of my mind says, take Perth because they have the experience and the coach but then another part of my brain says to take Taipans because they are monsters at home of late and home court in the NBL is massive and Taipans cannot go across to Perth down 1-0. The total is sharp as well.. Might be a game to sit out and watch and then make a play 2nd game.

Ok we have some WNBL action today...

The most important games are Rangers vs Lynx in around 2 hours time and then at 8pm we have the Fire vs Capitals and the Fire are laying -8.5 which seems a lot but it all comes down to what happens in the first game between Rangers vs Lynx. If Rangers lose, then the Fire have no motivation because they will finish 3rd. If the Rangers win, then the Fire do have some sort of motivation to finish 3rd because IMHO, the Fire would want to play the Lynx in the first round rather than the Flames as the Flames gave them big issues this season and were held to a 1-3 record thanks to an OT win at home, their record vs Perth wasn't the best going 1-2 as well  but I think the Fire in their current form could beat the Lynx rather than the Flames.. We shall have to wait and see what happens the first game.

Also like to add, there are no finals series in the WNBL, just one match and thats all you got if your go home or continue on..

haha you're right, my mistake. I just got into Australia yesterday and actually caught a bit of the perth game before hitting the hay, thunder storms are crazy here in sydney

All good Dan... I know bud, in Sydney as well and we just got smashed by plenty of hail and run but all cleared now.. 

I will have a play tomorrow, just hoping for some line movement and one of my books has the Hawks -2.5 and then another has it has a PK which is a little strange.

My mistake.. Massive mistaken from me.. The Lynx can actually go down into 3rd or 4th as they still have 2 games to go, one tonight and then tomorrow in Bendigo. A win tonight for them will seal 2nd spot, a loss tonight means they need to win tomorrow night vs Bendigo. This makes things interesting no doubt.

Perth Lynx @ Dandenong Rangers: Under 162.5

Ok, to the man (bookie) has had 3 straight overs in this series so far this season with games hitting 168, 163 and 164. So game 1, the total was hovering around 148.5, it went over by 20 odd points. Game 2, the total was 158.5 and went over by 5. Then game 3 was the same total, around 158.5 and hit 164 and now we get the highest total of the series so far and its close to what the last 2 games have ended at. With both teams having so much to play for tonight, I expect some defense. We got lucky last week with the over in the Rangers vs Flames game as the last free throw went in and we won that bet by the hook. Sami Whitcomb has just signed for a WNBA team which is massive for her and she torched the Rangers last time they played but expect the Rangers to have a game plan surely to stop her. As the totals are very close nowadays in the WNBL, this could be very close to the 162.5 total they have given us.

Tricky little weekend this one .. tonight feels like an important one for Dandenong given their recent run of form and with 3rd spot on the line but you never know what they might be thinking in terms of who they'd prefer to meet in the finals.. still, I think their overriding focus will be on righting the ship before next week.. the game up in Townsville feels like blowout city now that Canberra has bowed out.. I don't know how they pick themselves up for this after dropping Thursday night's 'gimme' that was a gateway to their biggest game of the season tonight.. they won't get any mercy from the fire that's for sure..

Leaning Hawks in this game Dan. The 36ers haven't been good on the road of late and with the other series looking like a sweep by Perth, I don't think we see a sweep in this series. Adelaide hasn't won a road game in Wollongong in their last 4 attempts. Expect the Hawks coach to make the right adjustments.

Jive, great to hear from you mate..I am absolutely loving Mike Israetel. He is a little beast but his videos and training make so much sense. Very easy to watch and listen to and he is a funny b@stard. I actually prefer listening to him over Layne Norton. Layne has become a bit of a social media b!tch and his pages are getting more annoying..

I agree with the Rangers, i decided to play a total instead of a side because you don't know which Rangers team will show up and Whitcomb might be extra motivated with her new Seattle Storm contract. Do you cap the WNBA as well  mate? One of my fav leagues to cap. The Sparks just signed Odyssey Sims from the Dallas Wings which is crazy.. The Sparks will be stacked this year.

Could not believe the Capitals dropped that game, I guess they missed Wehrung. I chose the wrong game to fade them. Adelaide should be more competitive next season I hope..

Haha, yeah I find myself having to listen to Mike Israetel's podcasts at least twice due to the entertainment factor that's rolled in with the extremely detailed content .. yeah layne lost me a while back due to his insecurities in having to seemingly 'destroy' every troll who posts something about him anywhere.. he tends to be a bit passive aggressive and nasty most of time now when responding to people who ask him innocent questions if they're a bit ill informed.. also the whole 'I'll show all the haters I'm not done' act whenever he gets injured nowadays just makes me roll my eyes.. like he thinks he's saving the world one squat at a time.. don't get me wrong, he's been a serious game changer for natural bodybuilding over the last decade or so but I believe there are guys now who are just flat out smarter than him when it comes to the intricacies of programming ect - Mike being one of them.. 

Anyway, yeah WNBA is a league I need to get back into.. had terrific success with it in the 2009 season after getting a feel for it the previous two years but  for some reason I just never went back to it .. mainly due to my best earners - netball and NRL running at the same time I guess..

Cheers Ramanujan.. I didn't expect such a big blowout in this game but finally the Rangers showed up and played some D and offense was good...

Leaning Hawks in tomorrow's NBL game but waiting to see where the line goes..

Great minds think a like Jive, I thought the exact same thing.. He gets so aggressive towards anyone that gives him a little feedback. When he comes back from an injury, its like the bodybuilding world must freeze and watch it.. Don't get me wrong, he has done amazing things for natural bodybuilding but I can't trust a guy that wears a bandana at the gym (I hope you don't Jive hahaha). But really like Israetel's stuff. He is a little nugget and I like the fact he practices what he preaches.. 

I do not know how you cap the NRL. I used to and im a Wests Tigers fan (don't laugh) but I serioulsy cannot cap that sport. Too many variances for me and the refs are some of the dodgiest refs I have seen. Time after time, they make the worst calls but if its making you money, then I may tail your plays on here if you post.. There is something about women's sport I enjoy capping. I am not sure what it is but like the WNBA, I feel as though they are more competitive sometimes then the men and also more consistent as well. Rarely do you get a bad game out of big name women's basketball players compared to the men.. Didn't the Netball start tonight?

Yeah mate, netball underway but strictly a spectator tonight at least because all of these teams are distinctly different this yr in new competition.. far as NRL goes it's a buy low, sell high approach for me.. very situational and motivation is crucial.. 

Haha, no bandanas here! No show boating, no flexing, no posing in view of others, just head down and no nonsense grind it out 

You hit the nail on the head re women's sport, wnbl & netball have been been my bread and butter for about the last decade along with one or two other sports / leagues.. I'm a firm believer in finding the select few sports where you have a consistent edge and just sticking to them wholly and solely

Totally agree. I love betting the sports that are so followed closely by others but I am a sucker for the NBA I will admit.. The CFL is another sport I love to cap because its actually more exciting to watch then the NFL as they have 1 less down so that means the QB's throw the ball a lot more and you can some crazy high scoring games. 

Jive, how do we not hammer the Lynx ML tomorrow. I know its only short odds but they cannot afford to lose tomorrow as they will slip down to 3rd if not 4th if the Fire win tonight?
