Hey all,

Well the crunch time of the NBL season has hit us. Been a fun season with the NBL getting plenty of exposure this season and I really hope it picks up even more next season.

NBL: 29-34
WNBL: 20-18

I have 2 futures pending. I have Melbourne at $2.90 to win the whole thing which I grabbed around Round #8. They are favs to win this but I will be looking for a hedging opportunity if I need to. Also have Townsville in the WNBL to reach the Finals at $1.80 which I grabbed around 2 weeks ago.

Moving on..

Grabbing this total right now as I really think the Hawks can trouble the Wildcats without Knight. AJ Ogilvy should cause some troubles with no Knight. Jawai has been 50/50 this season and Jervis well, i just think he cant compete with AJ. Then you have Lisch who I believe will win MVP award tonight and then Penney came back and made a big difference. The Hawks are firing on all cylinders right now and although Perth are beasts at home, I think this game will be very close. This total stood out to me as soon as I saw it because the Hawks are clicking and the last time they traveled to Perth cannot be used as an example because they were missing Penney and they were also in the midst of a brutal travel schedule which I pointed out and I played against the Hawks that night and the Wildcats ran wild. Knight hasn't been confirmed as out yet but I believe he will be. When Penney was out, a lot of the offensive structure was based on Lisch but now with Penney out, it opens up whole new doors again. With Penney in their line-up, Hawks have hit 83+ points in their last 7 games with him suiting up. Can Hawks hit 21 points per quarter average - YES, can they score 2 points per minute = YES. Enough said..

Jerome Randle off to the EuroLeague. Good on him. Hope he does well over there.

He sure did Guy. I am not sure though when he will be cleared to play for them though.

NZ Breakers @ Melbourne United: Melbourne -3.5 (Centrebet)

Going to take Melbourne in the 1st game of the playoff. Truly believe last weekend's win for NZ at Melbourne could easily be overlooked as Melbourne really didn't have much to play for. NZ didn't have Webster either in that game due to his wife giving birth. Webster is back. Not sure about 7'0 Pledger. As DaveNZ said, he had some weird virus and the latest news article I could find said he is 50/50 to play. Nonetheless, I think Melbourne can get a good win today at home. NZ are definitely a tough team to beat and they are 8-0 S/U in their last 8 playoff games but I think they make adjustments for Game #2 after losing this game. Melbourne a very good 12-2 S/U at home and NZ 5-9 S/U on the road. Will lay the chalk in Game #1.

Hi Ocean, 

Yeah I would personally play this up around -5.5. Think Melbourne can win this by 3+ possessions. NZ Breakers free throw's are horrendous and with those misses, that could be the difference in the cover or not.

Tailing United play buddy, at -4.5 365. Love a rematch off a loss and motivated/complete.

Can't find the Hawks TT on 365 for some reason... Seems it's only there when game starts, but prolly user error.

Well that game was just insane. 1Q NZ came flying out, then they were atrocious 2Q but then took over 2H. Crazy, crazy game. GL to Melbourne going back to NZ to play Game #2..

crap,wish i had seen this thread earlier..wud have liked to give my input,i loved the breakers in this spot.so much playoff experience packed into their roster versus a team coming together for the first time under a pressure situation with very few guys having played post season ball,plus breakers absolutely owned melbourne all season long.if it werent for the phantom call by a referee they wud have swept 4-0,obviously they are a nasty,nasty matchup for the league leaders..i know there were a lot of players missing for sum of those clashes but the dominance was clear.....melbourne just reeked to me of flat track bullies and strong front-runners that mite possibly freeze on the big stage,a la carolina panthers.

who do you like to go all the way??...i give melbourne about a 5% chance only of winning over here so probably breakers in the finals....woolongong is a super dangerous dark-horse when healthy and breakers have been their bitc.h all season long so they will have no fear there...just wondering if they can get over perth who traditionally have owned them likewise..mind you,hawks have never had as much talent before as they do now.
if its breakers in the finals i feel they beat perth but lose to the hawks......just doesnt feel like our year this year and doing it all on the road 2 series strait is a big ask.

Townsville Fire @ Adelaide Lightning: Over 153.5

Adelaide has found some amazing offense with Standish & Mitchell. Fire coming off a bad loss last night which they only scored 69 points which is very unlike them. Think we see a nice free open game as Adelaide have notched up 92, 88, 81 and 82 in their last 4 starts and they are up against a team that can put points on anyone when they actually want to.
