December and January are a busy time for officials in the Arena Football League and af2. A total of 62 officials will be stepping on the field to call 26 different bowl games as well as the Magnolia Grid Iron Class on Dec. 23 and East West Shrine Game on Jan. 20.
Six officials have already called four conference championships: Julian Mapp for the SEC Championship between Florida and Arkansas on Dec. 2; Barry Hendon for the ACC Championship between Wake Forest and Georgia Tech on Dec. 2; Barry Anderson Rusty Baynes and Allen Baynes for the Conference USA Championship between Souther Miss and Houston on Dec. 1; and Tom McCabe and Todd Ransom for the MAC Conference Championship between Central Michigan and Ohio on Nov. 30.
Wes Fritz will officiate throughout the NCAA Championship series. Rick Nelson, Brent Durbin and Dana McKenzie will be calling the Fiesta Bowl between Boise State and Oklahoma on Jan. 1 and Derrick Rhone-Dunn will ref the Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and LSU on Jan. 3. Finally, both Tim Morris and Brad Glenn will get the honor of officiating the BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 8 in Glendale, Arizona between Ohio State and Florida.
