NEW YORK -- The return of the New Orleans Voodoo to the Arena Football League has caused a realignment of the two conferences.
The Voodoo, who missed last season due to damage to New Orleans and their arena from Hurricane Katrina, will rejoin the National Conferences Southern Division. The Kansas City Brigade, a 2006 expansion team, will shift to the American Conferences Central Division after competing in the Southern Division last year.
The other 17 AFL teams will remain in their 2006 divisions.
The alignment
American Conference Central: Chicago, Colorado, Grand Rapids, Kansas City, Nashville.
American Conference Western: Arizona, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Jose, Utah.
National Conference Eastern: Columbus, Dallas, New York, Philadelphia.
National Conference Southern: Austin, Georgia, New Orleans, Orlando, Tampa Bay.
