Similarly, Highpoint has been one of the buttest programs in college basketball in recent history. However, in the last couple years, they have moved up to being half mediocre at times. Still pretty trash. Now they're 20 point favorites?!! Sure, i'll bite.

 If politics are to be my basis, i'm already perservering. Trump/Vance have doubled on their message of mass deportation. Trump also just made it clear that he intends to hold the homeless accountable for their actions. While this is a city, county, state problem, having the President-elect verbally address another huge elephant in the room is reason for optimism.

With that said, this is a college basketball thread.

How are they going to hold homeless accountable? Usually accountability starts with an accurate credentials like a name and home address...

It's not the state of homelessness but the refusal of mental health care and the rampant drug use that will be addresses. Quite honestly, it will initially take the form of picking up offenders and throwing them in the tank with repeat and/or felony offenders being sent to county. It's a complicated issue but accountability is the beginning. Right now streets and entire communities are being essentially handed over. To start, open air drug dealing and use has to stop. I grew up Oakland during the crack era. Most crackheads had homes. Heroin addicts had homes. The Mad Max post-apocalyptic conditions I have seen with my own eyes, in multiple cities across multiple states, need to stop.
