I have a question for you gamehunter... You use matchbook, I was thinking in make a deposit there but I just dont know because most of the time I place my wagers at midnight around 3-4 am ET, so I was wondering first, do they have run lines at -1.5? I never play those but I use them to get the -1 lines sometimes wagering some portion on the ML and the rest on the -1.5 the other thing do they have team totals? I know they do have 1rst 5 innings, but my problem would be around that time 3-4 am how much money average do you think is in a game already? is there lets say at least $500 - 1000 in every side, run line, team total, etc. or you have to wait until the morning? I would appreciate your answer... GL this season
Pools weren't great that early in the morning last season.....it was hit or miss for those amounts...by 10am all was good....I think it will be even more popular this season so the market should be stronger...yes, they have 1.5 run lines...no 1-run lines

GH this is my third question and again I want to thank you for the time it takes you to answer ALL of these:
Is there a particular rhythm to your profitable patches each season? Are you historically strong or weak in any particular month? I only ask because I read where you were discussing a particularly weak April you may have had last year (or the year before).
If you often start slow I really would like to know so I will govern my amounts wagered accordingly

Pack- there are some charges, but really only if you use the card as an everyday credit card. There is like a 10 dollar "activation fee." I was very hesitant to do it at all, but started with just 100 bucks on the card, so I paid 110 to start. When you activate, the automated activation asks you for an option to deduct "transaction fees." I just picked the option that charges per transaction. I think that fee is about a dollar. I emptied the card balance into my MB acct, so it didnt matter. All in all, it cost me about 12 bucks, but it would have cost 12 bucks if I had deposited 500 or 1000 bucks. However, MB credits you back about half of these little fees, so no biggie.
I went to MB based on GHunter's advice in his baseball post and the difference was immediate as the great lines pay for themselves.

Also, what do think about comparing baseball betting to hockey? I realize the two are different but i believe there are many similarities, like a starting pitcher vs a starting goalie. The worst teams in the NHL have fairly decent records as compared to the other sports you listed, as well. IMO you also NEED to bet against favorites and pick up good values on teams at a high+ if you believe they have solid value. Just my opinion tho

I struggled a bit two years ago in April. I have hit my best stride in late May through the end of July the last two years.

There are definitely many similarities to hockey but I think there are also a lot more factors and angles in capping baseball such as umpire tendencies, ballpark configuration as it relates to starting pitchers and home run power of hitters, individual pitchers versus hitter matchups, day/night splits, pitchers and catchers versus base runners, bullpen availability and overuse and the fact that pitchers tend to run in cycles more so than goalies.

As a long time covers user, I must say this has been the most informative thread I've read, and should be stuck to the main baseball forum page permanently!
