I had an unlimited gambling account with a local, had a few weeks where i lost 12000k +, Covid happened, lost my job, and asked my bookie to close my account. I went to strictly cash betting (money upfront), and bet small.
Nearly 3 years later, I still bet, maybe a few hundred a week, (down from thousands), and still get the kick. Where before i'd bet 1000 on a play , now i bet 50 to 100. What I'm saying is that for some people its possible to cut down, but others may need to go cold turkey. I dont miss those Monday morning where I had to figure out how to come up with thousands to cover my losses. A an added bonus, my health improved, my high Blood pressure went away.

Hey Brotha,
The positive is you recognized your vice, and now you must overcome it. Our suffering is often the result of our own actions, so learn to pinpoint the reasons behind it.
Life is suffering. How you act when facing this fact is your challenge. There are reasons each of us suffer; what unites us is that we suffer. Or we’ve moved past it, which is the point where you help others through empathy and understanding. Getting bogged down in the pain, yours or others, isn’t helping anyone.
Buddha and Rabbi Hillel suggest that by bearing your suffering, you learn how to become a better person.

You will never win meaningful money and keep it. Understand that. These things are true and unavoidable in life for everyone, always, no matter what. 1. Pain 2. Uncertainty 3. Constant work.
invite god, jesus and the holy spirit into your life.

I wish nothing but the best for you , remember this ..it’s not about how many times you fall , it’s how many times you get back up and keep pushing …don’t ever lose that

Good on ya... Yep. It is possible to go from betting big to small contradictory to what others think... I was like you dropping dimes on games... I took off cold turkey from 2015-2018ish... came back and only have made a few 4 digit plays in the past years. My unit is 100 and rarely go up to 2 units now... most plays average around 50... I've has one losing week since mid July. For real... outside of a week a few back where i got hammered and lost 1700 on the casino..which i knew was rigged but guess i didnt care. Next day i told my guy to deactivate it which he kindly did. Lowest payday was 34 and highest payout was a tad over 800. Compared to my past this is peanuts...but now I'm stoked to collect any amount.
For me it's all about control and discipline... and I still bet everyday without the stress like you had

You can but you need to be betting $1000 a game and be really good, or at least know who to follow on here.. Most people break if they get 10K plus in the hole to the point of of feeling suicidal. That feeling might not go away until you get even.. that is what is scary about gambling.. Some people feel this way when they are up money just by being down for the night... The feeling of you have to get back what you lost or else....

It's not the gambling that destroys your life, it's everything else in your life that's so shallow that it causes you to allow gambling to consume your life. Very few people can acknowledge this.

Wrong, nobody chooses to be an addict to gambling or alcohol or whatever,,,these vices are a form of self medicating because there are serious underlying issues which tha person is trying to escape the reality from.
What do you think about global warming and the push for electric cars? Aren't you concerned about where all the electricity is going to come from?
