Gotcha. Didn't know you were ribbing him.
But as I pointed out, the original 4.5 was never in doubt. He was not talking about betting each Q or each H, etc. One bet, for the entire game, that was covered for 80% of the game and the ENTIRE second half. Again, when you need 2 unanswered scores to lose -- it is about as easy a win as you will get in NFL SB.
You can argue the missed extra point. They still would NOT have covered. It might have changed some of the game continuation. But, instead of needing a FG to tie the game at 13, the Bengals would have needed a TD to take the lead 17-14. The Bengals scored a TD anyway to take a 17-13 lead. Then after that the missed extra point meant the Rams needed a FG and a TD to WIN the game instead of two FGs or a TD and EP. But, IN NEITHER of those situations would they have covered EVEN with the missed EP. However, that was very early and you can argue other things. For example, Bengals going for it on fourth down at the beginning of the game -- that sort of backfired and spotted the Rams an early score, Mixon should have got the ball on 3rd and 1 on last the drive and maybe even on 4th and 1, Joe B missed an open guy on the down on a missed read on left side, etc. But what you cannot argue, is that even after the missed extra point, the Rams built enough of a lead to cover AND could not put the hammer down! Bottom line is that the Bengals came all around winning that game and, but for a few missed chances, would have.
For, maybe, 20% of the game you could consider it a coinflip TO COVER for the Rams -- basically when they had a 7-0 and a 13-3 lead. But that was so early it did not matter. During the flow of the rest of the game, the Bengals covered with EASE. You can argue the Bengals dug themselves into a hole and came out quickly. If they had played field position early -- maybe they have the lead to start and the Bengals have NO problem winning -- let alone covering. The Bengals didn't take advantage of their lead well enough nor take advantage of Mixon well enough.
With almost 6:00 left in the 1st half the Bengals began to cover AND were never in doubt to cover the REST of the game. Unless it had gone to OT and they lost by a TD only or a pick-six.
The game may have come 'down to the wire' as far as who was going to WIN the game; it did NOT come 'down to the wire' as far as who would COVER. That is the difference.
If every game in NFL were this easy to watch when you had a bet on this side it would make it much more comfortable to watch. Again, this is about as easy a cover as you can ask for in the NFL -- especially on an 'underdog' in the SB.
On the other topic(s) -- you know I mostly agree with you on the idiotic 'vaccine' coercion stuff.
But as far as this one game stuff I cannot agree with you.
