I don't dismiss everything you've said but the missed face mask/interference call, resulting in a TD, was the cover enabler.
Maybe; maybe not. If he just goes straight to the ball, or reaches behind him to start with instead of in front and then back, going through Ramsey he might get the PI call.
If they do not go for it on 4th and pin the Rams early and the Bengals instead score -- that enables them to cover all game.
If Ramsey got called for the missed PI earlier, maybe it changes the game also.
If a lot of different things happened or different plays were called, etc.
I am not dismissing the fact that that play enabled them to start back covering and to cover the rest of the game. Sooner or later Burrow was going to catch Ramsey one-on-one like that. What if the help had been there to make the tackle -- maybe they score on that drive, maybe they don't. Sure, unlucky for the Rams that the ref does not see his head turn. But how often. will one or the other get the PI call in those situations. Usually, the defense will get called and the Rams got away with it on one and the Bengals did as well. What if Burrow had put the ball to tho other side; then maybe Ramsey gets called. Rams made sure that did not happen again.
I am simply saying things could have gone better for the Bengals earlier to get the game in their favor earlier.
I cannot say the Rams did not cover because of that one play. Maybe instead of taking a deep strike the Bengals could have taken their time going down the field.
Lots of different ways it could have gone. The Rams just were not that much better, if better at all, than the Bengals to cover. Not sure how much being at home helped but could have flat-out lost away from there.
Either way, I get that one play being highlighted. But you can counter it by saying the Bengals did not have to put themselves in that situation to start with. They could have had the lead already.
Nonetheless, it is an interesting look at a game that can only be played one time.

Every talking degen-head on Covers will have his own POV mostly based around how they bet the game. My point is that it was a coin flip type of game with the Rams getting some points for being at home, making the point spread based upon the match up just about right. So, IF...that 2 PT. conversion was somehow successful, the coin would have flipped from (heads) to the donkey's (tail) and guess what? The whole NFL forum would be talking about how it was the Rams who just barely covered and it was rigged, ECT...
And to add to Don Juan's excellent write up, who is to deny that the NFL doesn't want it's games to look more like NBA games where it often comes down to the last 2 minutes? And I think that's what you had this year, SB included.
