I didn't want to pay -120 at the time.

The -6.5(+115) alt spread is still hung at some books if it tickles your fancy.

Stat of the season, and this may be the tea leaves that Hugh was looking for:

The 49ers have only played 2 teams the entire year with positive point differential. Seahawks +9, and Chiefs +126.

Cowboys are +125.

Now might be a good time to look at the 49ers vs Chiefs game log.

I read an interesting article today about why the Cowboys match up well with SF on both sides of the ball.

The article also pointed out the records of the teams SF has beat with Purdy at QB:

  • Dolphins: 9-8
  • Buccaneers: 8-9
  • Seahawks (2x): 9-8
  • Commanders: 8-8-1
  • Raiders: 6-11
  • Cardinals: 4-13

The defensive ranking for those teams:

  • Dolphins: 24th
  • Buccaneers: 13th
  • Seahawks (2x): 25th
  • Commanders: 7th
  • Raiders: 26th
  • Cardinals: 31st

You could also look at defensive EPA (Expected Points Added) as a metric to prove this, a measurement of how well offenses perform against a defense versus what the expectation was going into the game — on a play-to-play basis.

  • Dolphins: 24th total D/EPA, 26th pass defense
  • Buccaneers: 13th (total D/EPA), 12th pass defense
  • Seahawks (2x): 25th (total D/EPA), 19th pass defense
  • Commanders: 5th (total D/EPA), 9th pass defense
  • Raiders: 30th (total D/EPA), 31st pass defense
  • Cardinals: 20th (total D/EPA), 19th pass defense

… and Dallas?

  • Cowboys: 2nd (total D/EPA), 4th pass defense

And add to the fact that for much of the last month every time i land on a talking head tv show Frisco is touted as a juggernut this that and another which belies the fact that the last time i saw them the Geno's were just about to even the score with 5 mins in the 3rd..then the wheels fell off.
