@sportschat Here's a thought, how about the Bears take Williams #1, and keep Fields with the intention of trading him mid-season to a team who suffers a catastrophic qb injury like Minny & Jets did last year...there's no reason now for the Bears to go all in with their seven duece offsuit,,,Fields value currently is at a low, but will automatically get a phantom bump in overall trade bait the moment a decent team loses their qb.
I've heard this theory elsewhere as well. And it does make sense. But that is only the case if Field's value is in fact that low.
In reality, no one really knows if Ryan Poles even shopped Fields. Was he even available for trade? Only Ryan Poles knows. He has been sneaky good at keeping his intentions to himself.
For instance, does any reasonable football fan with an average IQ believe that the Vikings passed on Fields for Sam Darnold? No chance.
So we'll see what happens. If they keep Justin and Draft Caleb, maybe it creates a healthy competition.
If I had to make my best guess, I think that he'll trade the pick for more draft picks. He's been parlaying these acquired picks into really good free agent signings and trades. The Bears are low in the draft pick department again, at only 4 for this upcoming draft. It's probably time to ante up again.

Been a great NFL off-season, with a decent amount of trades with a few total surprises, plus some interesting free agent signings. Been a fun off-season .... unless you're a fan of the Cowboys Although Dallas did sign Eddie Kendricks. His best work is behind him, mostly with the Temptations
And he's the only signing thus far, and have lost 5 or 6 players. Are the Cowboys solely focusing on the draft?
BTW, Tony Pollard as a Titan doesn't give me anything to look forward to if I was a Titans fan.

I’m just glad that we will be seeing more of Keenan Allen’s alter ego “ Sleeve-an Allen “ since he goes to the long sleeves under his jersey for every cold weather game . This is a great pick up and a great city to go to for us “ Sleeve-an fans

Keenan Allen was at USC’s pro day. Obviously the Bears have already signed Williams as the #1 overall pick Absolutely 100% the right move to trade Fields and draft a QB. NFC North is going to be so good
As far as the NFC North, I'll admit I had a soft spot for the hapless franchise. I was rooting for their success this past season. Keenan Allen to the Bears is a bit of a game changer for me. The Chargers WR coach for the past 2 years is now the WR coach for the Bears as well. Lots for me to root for over there.
I agree, that division is going to be fun to watch with the Packers as well. Now if only the Vikings will consider trading their damn 11th & 23d pick for the Chargers #5. Get themselves a fine QB there.
