Me writing this for CD is like Horace Clark pinch hitting for Babe Ruth. Unfortunately, the Babe seems to have retired, so I will start a week 1 thread.
Unlike our leader, I will not break down each game. This will simply be a thread for the boys to post NFL thoughts and opinions on various games.

For starters, I don't always bet on Dallas, but I never bet against them. Also, it is very rare that I lay a TD or more in an NFL game, so this is a play on the Boys or just sit back and watch the game.
The entire world seems to know that the SB champs have returned all 22 starters. We all suffer from recency bias, and we all seen what TB's D did to the mighty Chiefs in the SB. I'm not fooled into thinking this group is as dominant as the talking heads would have you believe.
KC was missing both starting Tackles, and Mahomes was hobbled. The previous week they gave up 26 to GB, and should have lost that game. The playoff game before that they gave up 20 to the Saints, and anyone who watched that game witnessed future HOFer Brees have the worst game of his career. He had some open WR's, he just couldnt get the ball there with his bad shoulder. The opening game of the playoffs was against WFT, where TB gave up 23 points to an inept offense playing with their 3rd staring QB.
In the last 3 weeks of the season, Atl put up 27 points on them twice. Matter of fact, for the season including playoffs (20 games total) they had 4 dominating performances on D. But all everyone wants to talk about is the SB because everyone watched it and we all have recency bias.
I'm not saying that Dallas will walk into TB and win, but if Dak and their RT Collins are healthy they will put up at least 27 points on them. We won't know the full health of Daks shoulder until the game starts. I think it was a good sign for the Boys that they didn't trade for Minschew. Had they made such a move for a borderline starting caliber QB, it would raise concerns for me as to Dak's health.
Lastly, the Cowboys defense will get better as the season progresses, but there might be some growing pains early on. I love what they did in FA as well as the draft.
Signing Neal, a former Falcon safety, to play LBer will instantly correct all the assignment mistakes that group had last year. Then getting Malik Hooker, who was a stud for the Colts before the injuries, was a tremendous pickup if he is healthy. He was one of the best safeties in football before injuries took their toll. He is still young. Lastly, they signed Hooker, who will start at one of the safety spots, and he is an immediate upgrade over the trash that played that position last year. LBer Micah Parson will be the only rookie who starts for Dallas in week 1. All I can say is watch this kid play. I'm sure the cameras will be focused on him. This kid is special. The Boys still have an issue with their interior D line. Hopefully Urban can make a difference.
Way to step up Hugh, and keep CD's name in his honor.
One thing I heard that should help(otherwise I don't know squat).
The Chargers faced the #1 sos in pass defense last year. This year they are projected to face the #32 sos in pass defense.
And I thought Justin Herbert was great as a rookie. 31 tds, 10 ints, 66.6% comp.
He should be just swell this year. The Dolphins fucked up by drafting Tua.
Someone tell me how the Bills don't win the AFC East? In their division they go against 2 rookie QB's(Jets, Pats), and Tua in his 2nd year who looked awful.
As far as week 1, I know as much as Trainwreck66, except I don't like a single game.

That's a great stat! I like the Chargers this year, but that's a tough division so doubtful they make the playoffs.
They had a solid draft getting LT Slater with the #13 overall was one of the best picks in the entire draft. That kid is a can't miss pro bowler, and protecting Herbert was their biggest concern. Large part of that problem has been solved. Still not sold on their back 7 on D, but if Herbert improves in year 2, the D might be able to give up 28 points a game and still win many of them.

My most successful weeks tend to be the ones where I only like 1 game, but bet my standard 7 games anyway

JEG, the books could not have known that the Cowboys best player (not the most valuable player, that is Dak) would get Covid 5 days before their first game. The line being 7.5 is a result of recency bias, and the media's fascination with TB. The fact that the line did not move when Dallas's best player, a future HOFer still in his prime, is ruled out makes no sense to me. Especially when you consider that Martin plays RG, and the starting RT is questionable this week. IMO there was tremendous value at +7.5. That value has been greatly diminished with the loss of Zack Martin.
