CD Newsletter Week 1

Lamar is going to throw the ball all over the place tonight. Some to Ravens, some to Raiders, and many incompletions. But I still like his passing props for the game.

I got BAL -4 and UN 50.5, even threw it in a parlay to remind me of high school MNF gambling - which was always the FAV and OV parlay except for one game: SF vs NYG we took one side and parlayed that with the under. The only way we could win our 20 timer was if no one scored in the 2nd half. We won.

There are no shortage of guys posting in the mains, as well as all over social media, and a ton of media talking heads who have decided that A Rodgers is finished (that gets 5 rolling heads, which is my highest rating on the stupidity scale). The friggin guy won the MVP 8 months ago, and suddenly he is finished?!?!?!?

Did he look disinterested yesterday? Yes ... but he ALWAYS looks disinterested because he is a prima donna, a diva, and a narcissist. He sucks as a person, and there are a few of his teammates who have publicly acknowledged that ... "too cool to care" Rodgers is still one of the best QB's in the NFL, if not the 2nd best.

If GB has an issue this year and they might, it is because they hired Joe Barry as their DC. The guy has had nothing but failure everywhere he has been, and his hand prints were all over yesterdays game. Their defense will not be as good as last years 13-3 team, but Rodgers will be Rodgers, which is to say an elite QB.

I didn't have a strong opinion on tonight's game, and was leaning Shrimp all week ... but I've decided to back the Raiduhs, who open this season at the Death Star (that's a great nickname for a football stadium!) The Raiders have a revamped defense, and have made some changes along the O-Line. They are set at the skill positions. I get the sense that the energy in the stadium will be crazy, and enough to inspire the defense to a couple of takeaways.

thats our stadiums nickname, although I will admit the LV stadium looks more like a "Death Star"     but we had it first

Seahawks are gonna let Russ cook, and their defense is only giving up 14.2 ppg in their last 7 games.

Cards are a solid team, capable of beating anyone, but still destined to finish in last place in one of the best divisions the NFL has seen in recent years

For the love of God, they've made the Buccaneers a 2 TD favorite over the Falcons. That will be worth discussing in next week's newsletter by Hugh Jorgan sitting in for Club Dirt while he recovers from the high ankle sprain which has kept him sidelined for the past 6 months.

 Its as if CD plays for the Mets. Whenever a Mets player is listed as "day to day" what the front office means is that "this player is not playing today, and will return on another day ... in about 9 months"

We need CD back ... otherwise we will need to rename the newsletter to "The Dallas Diaries" or "The Cowboys Compendium"

We will have a vote just as soon as every looks up 'compendium'

I'm seeing 12.5, which seems about right.

I just quickly perused all the lines and at first glance I like just about every favorite.

Carr is no goat. His approach seems to be “look at Waller he is double covered so I will throw it to him”. Then Waller is uncovered for an easy TD and Carr says “this seem like a good time to check down”. Carr knows where he is going with the ball when the break the huddle.

Any who, $ is coming in on the Bengals. That's great. I'll gladly take the Bears -2.5 if it goes there. Or even -3+105 is cool. The Bengals otr after a near full OT effort, and the Steelers on deck. This should be a breath of fresh air for the Bears after facing the Rams.

If the Cowboys defense is clowns for giving up 31 points to the SB champs and 2nd best offense in the NFL, what is the Shrimp defense for giving up 33 points to the Raiders?
