A couple more thoughts on the Bears, minor ones indeed.
They have a "good" problem on defense I can say. Every time that Jack Sanborn is on the field he's constantly showing up and making plays. Solid as fuck in the run game, and tremendous vs the pass. He has 2 or 3 pass defenses in man coverage so far. Plays where it's him or no one stopping a completion from gaining chunk yards.
The problem is that he's their weak side linebacker in the base 4-3. And the Bears(just like the league) is in Nickel nearly 70% of the time. I'd personally like to see him out there more if possible.
Although Kyler Gordon is a good Nickel Corner. So they aren't afraid to get out of their base package. What I did see a few times last week vs the Rams that concerned me a bit, was McVay going to personal that required Nickel coverage on short yardage situations(3 yards or less).
The Rams ran the ball every time against Nickel and got a first down every time.
As good as the Bears defense has been, with Eberflus calling the shots, it's gameplans like this that can be copied by teams going forward.
