Thanks. They got to all but 1 guy, although kudos to the Cleveland bullpen, for challenging them, neither of them shied away from the big bats, they went: here is the best I got, try to hit it, and they did, that was the difference maker.

I don't think they will reach 2.20, given how big the Yankees fandom is I'd say they can counter, whatever dough may come from Japan. 

One interesting stat: this is the most common match-up in the postseason, it will be the 12th time these 2 teams play each other, Yankees lead 8-3. The last encounter was 43 years ago, 1981 WS, which was won by the Dodgers.

Still waiting for Freddie Freeman to heat up. The Dodgers have been winning without much of a contribution from him. It took awhile for Ohtani to come alive too.

The Chargers last faced the Murray-led Cardinals on 11/27/2022. Against a much worse run defense, he rushed for 56 yards and 1 TD. His best WRs for the game were Hollywood Brown, DeAndre Hopkins, and Robbie Anderson. The Chargers were without Mike Williams, but Keenan Allen had a decent game (5/49/1). The Chargers Defense got to Murray once, with a sack. On the other hand, Herbert was sacked 4 times in that game. But the Chargers O-line has been much improved with a healthy Rashawn Slater and now Joe Alt securing the other bookend to the line.

It's a hard game to predict an outcome for because the Chargers secondary is banged up, but they have a much improved run defense. MHJ will be active for this game too. Interestingly, the Chargers my have to start Cam Hart, who locked up MHJ when he faced him in college (MHJ's stats for the game were 3 rec, 32 yards, 0 TD).

The last time both teams faced each other was a wild game, though. Here's a highlight reel of it.

Well, there is a reason for that, he has a sprained ankle. After the injury, in late September, the doctors said he would need 4-6 weeks to recover, but he played earlier? He didn't look good running the bases, at some points he was actually limping. He missed game 4 in San Diego, also sat games 4 and 6 against the Mets.

From what I'm seeing he should be available for game 1, we'll see if he can make an impact.

And on the injuries front, Boone said there is a good chance of Cortes making the WS roster, he will have another live session tomorrow. This could be huge for the Yankees, even in a limited capacity, 1-2 innings, having Cortes would mean that their pitching staff would be intact, same with the bullpen. It's obvious Yankees are the healthier team, pitching wise.

Ah, yes, I do know this. (I'm a Dodgers fan.) But they rushed him back nonetheless, and he's looked bad at the plate. Not sure if the ankle is hindering his stance and swing. I figured it's more of an issue on the bases.

 

They should have him come off the bench as a pinch hitter, and hit a game winning homerun, a la Kirk Gibson, so we can all watching him limp through the bases as he circles back to home plate.

We shall see, which guy will leave a mark on this WS, the good thing is there a lot of guys, on both sides, who can win the WS for their team.

As an away fav 13-10-1 (10th best).
