PPI's were a massive cost but since their patents expired,, no poblem now. Lansoprazole, Rx of choice, Omeprazole, Pantoprazole 2nd and 3rd choices.

I am Family Doctor. I also own 25% of a Retail Pharmacy on our Medical Centre Site. My Doctor partner owns 25% of the Pharmacy and the other 50% by 3 Pharmacists, they dispense the medicines. 8000 prescription items per month. Clinical Pharmacist, those that dispense prescriptions, have a great job in the UK, they are very respected and great earnings

Plus as your Health system is going towards the type of NHS system, you will find that Retail pharmacists have a role in health care. Our pharmacists not only get paid for each prescription dispensed, but they offer other services, that rake in money. They take BP, they offer testing for diabetes, chlamydia. They dispence emergency contraception. It is cheaper for the NHS, if they do this than doctors, and it releases doctors to spend more time with patients. They also have needle exchange, drug addicts bringin their old needles and get new ones free of charge. The pharmacist earns money for all these extra services
