This thread is senseless.  Anyone that believes sports are fixed is a numb nuts.  Thousands of games, different players, come on WAKE UP!!!

The only thing that Vegas controls is the clientele,whose composition currently is at least one IQ standard deviation  below the level necessary for the task,the most difficult of all disciplines.

Were the betting opened up to all 50 states,we may see a far different result.Or maybe not.Perhaps I'm overestimating the rest of the population's capabilities.

I'm being very nice here because this not a Current Events Board.

How little you know silly man. July and August are also the worst months for bookies. With NBA ending and only leaving some soccer and baseball.

Ok maybe Vegas doesn't fix the games but there is proof games get fixed. Soccer?!?!?!?

I'll answer your question lbj1 (seriously this time)  because it is a good question. 

International soccer is easy to fix because it has the right ingredients. 

1)poorly paid players and referees 
2)HUUUGE money gambled on games
3)simple ways one player or ref can fix the outcome

MLB has only #2. 

What game in the USA has been statistically proven to be fixed a lot?

NCAA basketball because the three ingredients mentioned above line up for opportunity to fix games. The bell shaped curve for all NCAA mens basketball games shows a big dimple way more than statistical chance would allow right smack dab on the point spread PROVING MATHEMATICALLY that some players on some teams are going on the road and losing by less than the point spread on purpose. 

Now the idiot who started this thread isn't going to understand all that but I'll bet most of you can.

Good valid points, but you be very naive to think that player, more so umps/refs don't get bribed into "trying" to fix games. Obivously umps can't do nothing if hitter hits a hr, but they can greatly affect the game by calling a ball a strike ,a non-foul , a foul etc .... You get the point though

They make money when everyone's on one side and it loses case in point nfl buffalo beats Colts they'll be at least a dozen on that alone watch
