It's very telling that all of the Eagles backers don't want to answer a very simple question.  "Have the Eagles played an elite / upper tier / high quality / whatever the fuck you want to call it... team this year?"

YES OR NO?

If yes... what team was it?  I'm not even saying what elite team did they BEAT... I'm saying what elite team did they PLAY?

I've been watching Super Bowls since Super Bowl 12!  I've been handicapping them since Super Bowl 25!  I do not ever recall seeing an instance of a Super Bowl team that had not played a SINGLE GAME against a team that could be regarded as being in the upper echelon of the NFL ranks.

So far we have a shitload of illiterate fucks getting pissed that I asked the question... but still not one of those illiterate fucks has attempted to dispute it in any intelligible manner.

If you wanted to make the argument that the 49ers were not elite until Purdy took over... I would consider that a rational and valid argument. But if that is your argument, you can't then also say they were elite last week, without EITHER of those guys.

By your exact definition the eagles have played 1 elite team while the chiefs have faced 3....

I do agree about Reid when he was an Eagles coach. I was never a fan, for the reasons you said, even though the Eagles have always been my 2nd favorite team (behind Miami). I think his career with the Chiefs has been a different story.

As a fan, I am looking forward to this game... Eagles / Chiefs is a very intriguing matchup... 49ers / Bengals would have made me vomit all over my TV.
