Both vaccine and infection immunity naturally wanes over time.  But that doesn't mean vaccines haven't been effective.  Only half of Americans who are eligible for booster shots receive one.  Booster shots work to increase protection against severe illness.  They aren't evidence of ineffective vaccines.  To prove vaccines don't work, 99% of fully vaccinated people would have to be hospitalized or die from covid.  Since current boosters work better than expected despite multiple variants, 80% efficacy could become the standard in evaluating covid vaccines by Food drug administration.  In contrast, flu vaccine effectiveness is in 10% to 60% range.

Early BDP, before the album with Love's gonna getcha was kinda on some gangsta shit. Some of it. Loves gonna getcha is such a good song. Lyrically it's not like KRS is just ripping shit down but the beat, and the chorus, and the message.

The rap I listen to now is admittedly horrible but it's what grabs my ears. And you can't control what you like. The era of mid-late 80's to early 90s NY rap with shit like you mentioned, Kane, BDP, Eric B. And Taking, EPMD, and the era of early to mid 90's NY rap, Wu, Lost Boys, Smif n Wessun, Black Moon, are the two best eras of hip hop. And for people who aren't hip hop heads, though there is slight overlap, those are two very distinct eras. I'll always love mid 90's Bay Area rap too.

  no offense but you dont have to explain krs-1 lyrics  to me.... ......i grew up on webster ave in the bronx so i am very familiar with boogie down productions and krs-1...and not to be a hypocrite but ill further explain to you , as you probably know.....yes growing up in a group home was part of what he was talking about among other things, his coming of age , wanting to rap as a kid as well as his friends he made , dj scott larock, eric b , rakim, public enemy etc.... and grew up with and the albums they dropped, but  more importantly the fact that it can all be gone in an instant...''credit cards and bank accounts, outta here, mercedes benz and range rover, outta here''

Bay area has had a ton of solid rappers ...Especially in the mid 90's ....E 40, Too Short and Spice 1 were some of my favorites at one point....

I've tried to listen to today's stuff , just can't get into to no matter how many of the youngins play it at basketball...

Completely understand how you can't control what you like ...I can't stop watching aqua teen hunger force , even though it's shet .

 THANK YOU for the back story...Appreciate where you grew up ...Used to make good money in middle school going down to the city for mix tapes,  dubbing  and selling them for $6-10 all around WNY ..I really miss those days of Rap being real, truly underground ...

Even though we're close to NYC , Early Rap didn't get much air play here ...WBLK was mainstream,  WBNY was a Buffalo state college Station that only played NYC Rap on Sundays from 7-11 pm ...Everyone had their tape decks recording during those hours..

You're metrics are nonsensical. +99% of the population wouldn't be hospitalized or die from covid, regardless of vaccination status. So the real metric should be: Are the vaccinated becoming symptomatic? And they are. Across the board, they are. Hell, from a personal standpoint, more people I know have gotten covid in the last 4 months or so than any other stretch in the past two years. And they were all vaccinated. Most boosted. None have been hospitalized but I knew people who caught covid pre-vaccine who weren't hospitalized. All thanked the vaccine for not getting terribly sick but that doesn't mean the effectiveness isn't waning against these new variants.

And Aqua Teen Hunger Force isn't shit. It's actually pretty well written. I haven't watched it in well over a decade though but it was always good for a laugh.

 i go back earlier than that, i have a feeling i am older than most here, i am 50 so i grew up in the bronx in the 70's and 80's, none of it was played on the radio ...not to mention the 70's til about mid 80's the place was a war zone....burnt out buildings everywhere, no jobs, the bad old inflationary times of the 70's , the whole city was a wreck...and not to get political, I REPEAT, NOT to get political but we as a country are heading back to those bad old inflationary days of the 70's very fast.....and as usual , now like then, its hurts the poorest people the most....the limited dollars they have cant be stretched far enough to make it......i am lucky enough to have made it out, made alot of money and now retired in fla, lucky as hell and thankful, but i go to the grocery store and pay 8 dollars for a 12 pack of diet coke, 10 dollars for bacon, 3.89 for dozen eggs, 9 bucks a lb for lean ground beef and i wonder how a person making minimum wage can survive, sad......that is why once a month my wife and i , we bring our son, we go to walmart and load up 3 carts and drop the food of at our local food bank and  the salvation army by us........forget gas , food prices are crippling ....everybody has to eat, not everybody need gas

 I take something back that I said. I did lose a close childhood friend in the last few months to covid. I hadn't seen him in 20 years, and I couldn't make it back for the funeral. I'm not sure of his vaccination status but he was a city bus driver in the Bay Area so you do the math. I'm sure he was boosted. Again, hadn't seen him in 20 years but he was diabetic and was always big. Not like morbidly obese. Just a big dude. Maybe he slimmed down in the last 20 years. Maybe he got bigger. Either way, there were comorbidities. Likewise, my sister got it early on pre-vaccine. 50, asthmatic, decent health but definitely not running weekend 5ks, barely got sick. Little lethargic and loss of smell. Not even taste.

 I think Dub is around 50. I'm a C-hair under 40 but 50 isn't older than most around here. A lot of these guys are 60 and up.

Yeah food prices are out of control ...The shrink flation is real too , prices keep going up and the size of the product we're buying is smaller...

Here in WNY it's clearly not as bad as you're paying down in the sunshine state but it's way out of control ...Just bought groceries yesterday...Lucked out 85% ground beef was bogo at $6 a LB,( tops aupermarket does this one week a month ) ,  Porterhouse and t bones were bogo as well at $15 a LB,  Milk is $4 a gallon , good bacon is around $11, most Veggies have tripled in the last 5 years  ... The undeserved communities here are paying much more than the prices I listed above though. ..

The p box crowd is mostly 40-80+ IMO , the mains appear to be over run with 16-29 yr olds ....I could be wrong,  but that's my guess .

Main goal of vaccination is to reduce severe illness.  As long as the risk of severe illness is reduced, booster vaccines are working as expected despite weakening of immunity over time. Increased infections have become a less relevant metric because of protection from improved population immunity.  Hospitalization is a more important metric now.  In countries with most people vaccinated, normal for a larger share of cases among those vaccinated.  That doesn't mean vaccines don't work.  A small percentage of people in a vaccinated majority is still more people than a big percentage of a unvaccinated minority.  But unvaccinated people are still far more likely to be hospitalized from covid compared to the fully vaccinated.
