Back from a 2.5 week trek just in time for the Conference Finals... Feeling mighty refreshed
LOL - I come back and see the thread hasn't been updated with anything other than homerism (which is expected from the Bryant stans)
No mention on how flaccid the Western Conference playoffs have been this year. No mention of how exciting the Eastern Conference playoffs have been.
Question - If the W[orst] Conference was so tough and wide open, how comes teams were pounding each other, with there only being 1 good series? Spurs-Hornets? If the West was truly competitive, the playoffs would have been more even, like in the Eastern conference.
Back on topic...
I give the Fakers credit though. They took care of business in the 1st two rounds against the worst seeded team in the West (Denver) and the 2nd worst playoff team in the West (Eurotah).
Where as the Spurs beat the true #2 seed (New Orleans) and the true #4 seed (Phoenix)
No surprise about the Fakers success ...I looked for a 5 game win over the Nuggets and a 6 game win over the Jazz.
Now time for the conference championship.
Being that the Fakers are the the worst defensive team left and the worst RA (rebounding allowed) team in the playoffs, it's easy to think they'll get it handed to them by the superior defensive team in the Spurs?
Not so fast as Phil Jackson is the best coach in the NBA and will have the team ready.
Sadly, the Fakers have no chance in this series unless they are able to execute near perfect on offense like they have against poor defensive teams like Denver and Eurotah. They won't face that with the Spurs. If the Spurs win tonight, this thing is over in 5.
Will be looking more forward to the Eastern Conference Finals where it should be more competitive.
Game time, ladies and gents.

By my count, the playoffs FADE train is a dismal 2-5-1 (which puts it under 60% for the first time EVER.
Luckily there is still plenty of time left to get things back on track.
Oh and Bryant winning the MVP award was laughable but predictable for 2 reasons:
1) Jerry Buss bought the votes back in early April. When did MVP voting turn into bribery.
2) Most of the writers said they would vote for Bryant or Chris Paul (the true MVP)) based on team finish and the Fakers won the West by 1 game.
That would be understandable in a perfect world but can you really say a team is the true Western Conference champion when they play 2 more home games (and 2 less road games) than any other team in the NBA? Was that considered in the voting?
Anyway - Looking forward to the game tonight. Let's watch and see if the FADE train will make the comeback, or continue to get pounded like a $2 hooker in a no-tel bedroom.

you counting Lakers playing against the Clippers a home game LMAO
Chris Paul would have been mvp except for the fact the Lakers CRUSHED THEM at home at the end of the season and the fact that the Hornets COUGH COUGH CHOKED and lost like 4 out of their last 6 games or something like that
