Looks like people around the forum have been too caught up in the fandom to realize that no team is hotter than the Lakers right now. 0-9 ATS in their last 9 games. A casual observer might ask, "Well, how are they able to only squeak out games and allow other teams to keep it close?" That question was answered here -
"We talked about going to Kobe early in games and not waiting," coach Phil Jackson said.
That statement pretty much sums it up why the Lakers will not being covering ATS at a high rate for the rest of the season. Although Phil Jackson is the 2nd greatest coach in NBA History, he knows that the NBA is still a TEAM game and guys not playing TEAM basketball just dont get it done when it matters.
So the question is, will the hottest team in the NBA finally cover a game tonight? Will Kobe Bryant continue to shoot his way into the record books and the Lakers out of contention? I'm hoping Bryant goes for the juggular tonight so guys who have been fading the Lakers after their loss @ Phoenix can continue their quest of becoming millionaries within a matter of a month

I actually agree with you on this one Hustle Man. LA is playing BTB, Cha is well rested for this game. Matter of fact, from here on, it's must-win mode for the Hornets. Public will be on LA as usual.

Although the FADE train has been moving along, it picked up FULL STEAM after Jackson basically said he's given up on the season. Hence the reason their games are kept close. I dont agree with the Hornets being a play because they need to win but I agree with them because any team will have a chance against the Lakers (especially on the road) when they try to play one man ball. Just take a look at the game vs. Memphis last night (60 points = 2 point win?) or Charlotte (58 points = double digit loss?) FYI - These teams are awful.
The question is... Why are Lakers' games kept close when Bryant takes almost half of the team's field goal attempts? Basketball 101.

hustle - no one wants to point it out because they only rag on you when the Lakers are playing well. Why would Lakers fans want to bring up the fact that they are 0-9 ATS. You would hear from your haters if they were 9-0 ATS though.

BUT IT'S JUST LIKE HUSTLE_FAG TO LIE ABOUT IT. ADD A HOOK TO IT BECAUSE HIS IDIOTIC
ARGUMENT WOULDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE WITHOUT IT.
GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK FADE_MAN.... IS NO -2.5 YOUR OFFICIAL PLAY FOR TONIGHT? BECAUSE I MISSED FADING YOU AND GETTING RICH. GOING FOR YOUR 80TH LOSS TONIGHT.
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Actually I was using those numbers from another source... But since you want to use covers.com numbers you are right... They are actually 0-8-1 ATS in their last 9. But let's see what the record has been in the last 20? (according to covers.com because thats the only site that shows ATS numbers)
5-13-2 ATS in their last 20... 9-23 ATS in their last 32.
No wonder he is so mad. He's faded the Lakers' into a lifetime's worth of debt. Too bad you cant blame it on palimony like Shawn Kemp.

Dont worry about it. When guys continually lose their shirt, they dont have time to enjoy their winnings, just bash the factual data that I post. No sweat off of my back
I just hope the Lakers' win tonight so they wont drop another ATS and idiots like stand_impress dont keep doubling up and losing even more. He's worse than guys that kept betting the KC Royals during MLB last year because they were "due for a win". Atleast those guys didnt drown in juice.

I wonder if Allen Iverson has ever lead his team to an ATS that bad?
Greatest player in the NBA.
Yeah, leave it to the self proclaimed basketball expert to compare a players greatness to their ability to cover a spread! I love you man, you crack me up. You provide me instant entertainment throughout the day.

The comment was targeted to the basher (who I know who it is). What basketball player (other than Tony from Blue Chips) cared about covering a spread?
The point is... The more Bryant shoots it, the more the opposition's chances of winning the game increase.
Let's watch tonight's game and see if the trend will continue.
