A's are 7-19 vs lefties15-25 as an underdog23-27 on the road. sets up great for the A's right? let's dig deeper. Key is an "analytics guy" so here are a few for you:A's this year have a wOBA of .300 this year against left handed pitching which is 19th in the league. in the last 14 days, that wOBA is a stout .279, ranked 27th in all of baseball. on the flip side, the dodgers have a wOBA of .330 this year against righties, good for 2nd in the league. Not to mention the A's have statistically the worst defense in baseball, the 5th worst bullpen era in baseball(and that was with clippard), just traded away 3 of their best playerss and their best player isn't playing tonight. Coming off getting swept by the giants, they should be playing super hard for a front office that just gave up on the year. Not really that bad of a loss. You guys are hating on a guy because he's not picking the A's. The A's are garbage. How many nights do we see Aces crumble. Last night Matt Cain and David Price looked like garbage. Both are not true Aces, but are getting paid 5x the amount of Sonny Gray. The dude is going to lit up eventually. The Blue Jays should have tore him a new one.
