 Yeah I get it I’ve tried to quit many times I would love to quit I’m a pathetic gambler I probably lost about 700 grand in my lifetime and I never learn the sad thing is if you go to any AA meeting and I have attended a few with friends as support and there are hundreds of people there every meeting I’ve been to three different gambler anonymousl meetings the most people that were there were 4 4 fucking people I went about two months ago there was three people there and believe me these dudes were pathetic losers they were on welfare so I got up and left yeah unbelievable..It’s really hard to get good support to stop gambling

It’s funny dealing with the book is the worst when you’re not actually handing over the money you can bet thousands  then at the end of the week you’re like fuck     when I go to the casino and I gotta use cash or lose 500 bucks and I’ll make me sick yeah the credit thing is the fucked  part bookies really make out

One of my friends won 170k in 3 days, came to my house with a bag of money. Lost all back in 2 weeks and lost another 150k.:) he  lost over 300k in 2 weeks.

I lost 85k with live betting Rams vs Tampa in playoffs 2 years ago.

 Listen bro I am at agent for a book which means I’m a middleman I have about 15 guys a go through me that’s my gambling money just tell the dude you’re done and you’ll make payments the days of breaking legs and kneecaps and threatening or over he’ll let you make payments believe me    The longer you drag it out the better chance they wont put you back on that might be the key to quit gambling

Thanks everybody for your kind words and wisdom. I truly appreciate you all taking the time to offer advice. I'm going to attempt to quit for good but as we all know it's a very hard thing to do. Put a flier in before the season ironically on arizona to win the natty so as my last bet, let's hope that wins (even though I don't see it personally). Good luck to you all.

i feel you bro.  i had UCLA too for 5000 and felt like cursing to the f world.  the bet amount indicted that i am not a responsible person and will never be a parent for the rest of my life.

it is either you quit the betting life, or kept on going.  Pay off the debt and wager for candy money.

my problem sometimes is i don't stick to my plan, and my plan of often good until i doubt on cover's pick.  the general rule is to figure out what is the real favorite team and you put money on the opposite side.  Work 70% of the time.  

good luck.  Develop you own wager rules, then put it on paper, and do not watch the live game on TV... lot of fake stuff to show the in-game bets.  

As gamblers we all know we have winning streak we have losing streaks and then there are weeks when we’re just up and down and break even the key is when you’re losing the layoff which is really fucking hard to do and a lot of times when I’m winning it’s like I don’t push it because I’m afraid to lose it back gambling is a viscous fucking cycle it really is. How many of you guys knew before the NFL season started it was gonna be a shit year I knew it I’ve been doing this a long time and I fucking knew it all of the quarterback trades the coaching changes the injuries and sure enough it was probably the worst NFL season for gamblers ever I did a layoff nope I lost a lot of money   and right nowI got a limb saying this NCAA tournament beware it’s going to be the fucking worst covers bloodbath there’s no dominant team it’s gonna be really ugly you watch to Cinderella they’re gonna end up playing for the championship and everybody’s gonna lose their ass I can see it now….just my opinion .hopefully I won’t get dragged into it but I probably will lol

The hardest part of any addiction, is to admit you are powerless over it and need help.

Most losing gamblers never want to admit to themselves they are terrible at picking winners because they don't want to admit they are clueless at something that seems so easy because they truly believe they are knowledgeable of whatever sport they are betting on.

Quitting is your only option to having any resemblance of a normal life.

The human mind, and free will usually stand in the way of degenerative gamblers from escaping their out of control gambling addiction.

It's up to you whether or not you want a relatively normal life or not.

that being said wage for fun if you can’t step away. The problem here is we take it too serious and chase.

I’ve learned to tell myself alright this game will bet a no bet and watch the game to see what the results is and if there’s a part I misread and end up just having fun watching the game. Like last night with ucla and Arizona game.no wage but Very fun game to watch. I don’t know if that can help any of you but if you can’t step away from gambling don’t punish yourself take it one step at a time.

Look as we know life is too short. We have people that love us.

we’ve also busted our asses outside of gambling.. yea we want to hit the home run and win big. But unfortunately for some us we aren’t always that lucky. So again take it easy if you bet have fun and watch the game rather than just numbers in your screen.

I used to bet big too. Not over $10k a bet but $3-5k. I did lose a bit but I stop betting large not worth it. You can have hot and cold streaks. Your cold streaks usually are worse then your hot as you can constantly chase until your broke 

You are not alone. Starting this thread was a good step. Just take accountability with the book. Tell him you need access shut down until paid (important you say until paid, because then he will feel like he's still got a customer in you). Make a payment plan you know you can afford and stick to it. The feeling of not being a man of your word can be almost as bad as the money.

You need to change your routines immediately. Daily affirmations, notecards on the nightstand....read them every night before bed and every morning when you wake up. Delete all the sites from your faves. Honestly, don't come back here either....I fuck around on the forums but this place is a cess pool minus a couple high character dudes.

Sorry to hear bro, a lot of us have been there, one thing I learned is to take the weekends off.

I always end up losing on weekends, theres always upsets maybe because the public is betting larger, but I lay off weekends or bet small.
