The world of Ayn Rand does not exist anymore, and maybe never did. If we follow such a path, then 99% of the populace will be working for scrip and living in company housing. I probably eat McD once every year to 18 months and always breakfast but, in a matter of speaking, I don't mind paying $10 for a big mac if it means the poor sap serving it to mean can buy school clothes for his kid. I don't want to live in a world where the sad soul who has to work at a McDonald's can't afford McDonald's. That isn't altruism. It's common sense, and common decency.
And like I said, if you can't afford fast food, don't eat it. Most of it is pretty nasty anyway. Restaurants will close. There are too many to begin with. Those workers will be forced to find different, and hopefully better work.
The only fast food burgers I eat are In&Out and Shake Shack, and I try to make even that a rarity. I'm pretty sure those place already pay at least $20, and that's in both California and Oregon.

Don't know what era you spent with your grandparents but mine was early sixties onwards. Grampa was a railroad engineer and had the London to Montreal run. If granny was gonna be alone for a bit one of us were dispatched to keep her company. Glorious Sunday nights watching Bonanza and Gunsmoke . Cookies and Coke!! Forever etched in my brain.

Hypothetically, if we were to invade Canada, how much of a defense do you think you guys could mount? I sometimes think about how cool it would be if we left you guys the chunk of land that encompasses Montreal,Toronto, Ottawa, and just took the rest of Canada. Do you guys have nukes? I feel like most Canadians secretly want to be real Americans.
What backwater country are you from again? China is the only country that could "own us" in a military sense. As far as economically, we are only beholden to China and Saudi Arabia.

Stop acting like we need our "friends" more than they need us. We're beholden to Saudi Arabia, because our dollar is backed by their petroleum. We're beholden to China because we have come to rely on their cheap, slave labor goods. We really don't need any of them though.
I promise you that you don't want to go toe to toe with me, IQ wise. Asking if a country has nukes should be read as nothing more than fodder for a joke. A joke that wasn't directed, and has nothing to do with you. I also asked him when the was the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup.
You are clearly unhinged. And your insertion of presidential politics into a thread that has nothing to do with such things proves it. Your obsession with the leadership of a country you are not a citizen of is telling. And for the record, I don't support politicians, I support policies. Trump has/had some policies I support, and some I do not. Same with Biden, Obama, W, Clinton, H.W, and Reagan. I don't turn politicians into heroes, nor comic book villians.
